Hi folks -

I was out for a drive in my car yesterday because it was so nice - 40's and sunny -

I found these units basking in the sun in Mapleton at the Keokuk junction.

There is a train in those pictures:p I only see a sweet Z06

Thanks! I have had that car for over 9 years now. It still puts a big grin on my face when I drive it.

Pretty neat! As some of you know, I live about a block from the railroad tracks now, but I was raised about 1/4 mile away from where I am now, and the tracks were less than 100 feet away. I can remember seeing lots of neat trains, like the old Rockets. I can also remember seeing the freight trains with some of the boxcar doors open, and hobos riding in them! I guess I`m showing my age again.

I spent seven years picking up signal batteries from the railroads. Mostly from the big ones, UP, CSX and BNSF but also all of the short lines and unique passenger lines. The ones that restore the old cars and engines were a lot of fun to deal with. I got to look at some really cool stuff those years.
Thanks for sharing Andy.

Wow! I totally missed this one back then I guess! I was just then getting hooked up with John! Sure am glad that I caught this will just roaming around on the site! Thanks for sharing Andy! I copied these to a file that I have set up with just the railraod photos that you have taken and shared with us! I have added an AM suffix to them! This one is a real beauty! Where was this taken, and what time frame are we talking about?

Hi Tom - I was hoping you would see these.

I took them this past Saturday. This is the short-line that I told you about that is just a few minutes from my house.

My area is a hotbed of rail activity.
