Im going to New Mexico from California. I am not sure if a balisong is even legal in cali. If I checked it with my luggage would they hassle me, and maybee take it? I don't want to risk it if they might confiscate it(its a nice benchmade one). Alright, thanks alot

If you checked in with your luggage, it is extremely unlikely that they will notice it at all. But it is illegal for you to carry in California. It will be legal in the trunk of a car or in a house, but carrying a bali in CA is a misdemeanor, and that's a felony if it's concealed. I would recommend leaving it at home. Good news is that you can carry and conceal any length manual folder in CA without legal hassles. If you have any more questions post them here and we'll try to answer them.
