Trouble viewing images

I'm trying to look at some images in the "kami mark update please" thread, http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=292537 and every time I click on one, I get the following message:

Josh Feltman, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.


Is there any way to fix this?

Which images? Is the same thing happening in other threads? Do you have "show images" checked in your options?

I can't imagine why that would happen with some images and not with others, but computers often seem pretty inscrutable ... we can probably figure it out given enough information to work with.
 
Cougar--It's the attachments Raghorn posted in the thread I linked. I take it from the comments that other people are seeing them, so I'm assuming the links work. I have the "view images" option checked in my options. I'll try to go find an inline pic somewhere and see if that makes a difference.

Edit: ok, I can see the deal of the day photos Uncle Bill posted with the tags, so it must be something with just the attached photos.

This is the same problem I referred to in the "Please Help" thread. Not being able to view attachments.
Josh, try logging out at the top right of the screen, ( Oh yeah, see if you get an "Error" message that tells you to "Click here to log out.").
I can view the images attached (in thumbnail form) just fine as a visitor, just not when I'm logged in as a Basic Member, which I see you are, as well. I never had this issue before I signed up as a Basic Member to at least support these Forums. :( . Maybe it's something in that program?
Anyway, I've removed all cookies manually several times, no joy. Sometimes, after I log in, then click on the attachment, I can view the picture, if I looked at it when not logged in......but not always.
I finally just gave up. I log out if I want to see an attachment badly enough. :rolleyes:

Thank, Bill. I just became a basic member, and hadn't had any problems before this, so I'm pretty sure that's what's causing it.

Spark, this seems to be a widespread problem. I just saw a post about it from Yvsa, who also just became a basic member....

Yes, several of us who have just become Basic Members can't access the attachments we could when just registered users.
Here's the thread where I posted if it will help explain things further.
 
Any idea when this is gonna be fixed? I did log off and found that I can see the pix when I do. It's a pain to have to do that though.:(
 
Sorry, guys, we'll just have to wait till Spark can find the time to figure out what's gone wrong and fix it.

Should be fixed now.
 
.....As the tension and frustration of logging in/out melt away like cheap ice cream in the desert sun.......or something like that. :D

It may not be as fixed as it seems to be. I'm having the same message pop up as Josh was when I try to view attachments. This was about five minutes before this posting.
 
Yup, Thanks Spark.:D And I figured out how to delete all my old attachments so I can post new ones. That's great.



But now it appears the registered users can't see the pix when they're logged in, same problems us basic users were having. They Can See the pix when they're logged out though....

Edit:
Registered users can't see basic user's pics. They can see gold and platinum member's pix according to Ferrous Wheel in the HI Forum.

It's still not working for me. There are several threads, including the one linked at the top of the page, where I get:

I can't view 'em either. I logged out, cleared cookies and history, logged back in and could see one or two images before I got the "you do not have permission" blurb again.
 
I actually turned off viewing attachments for Registered Users and people who aren't logged in just after my previous post. I'm going to have to do some thinking to see if I want to enable them for non-paying users.
 
Seems to me being able to upload images directly to the Bladeforums servers is an important perk of paying members. People have told me that's what they signed up for. If most of the members can't see those images, that devalues the privilege of uploading them.... I'm afraid a lot of people will invest in an image host somewhere else on the net instead of in a Bladeforums membership.
