Thanks to all who responded to my question.

Should have asked it this way, has any one received a Monarch in the last couple of weeks and have the bugs been worked out?

I sent Rich a long list of what needs addressing a few weeks ago, but haven't heard from him. Guess it's time to follow up.

Thanks Tony. Guess I'll wait a while for that one. Need to see if my distributor is going to carry them anyway. I just crave a new bali with steel handles. Any one at BM paying attention???

I'm almost 100% certain that you can only get the Monarch through Rich at Knifemart.com. Rich didn't express any interest in sub-distribution. The runs are small enough for him to sell them on his own. I'll call Rich and keep you all posted.

Update: Just got off the phone with Rich, and he has acknowledged all the issues experienced with the initial release of the Monarch, and is committed to making it right. So far the machine shop that was subcontracted to manufacture the Monarch has been let go. Rich has also hired the services of a Knife Designer (real job title) who has experience running a knife manufacturing machine shop. That and all the feedback Rich has gotten is resulting in the redesign of the Monarch and the whole process should start up once again fairly soon. While he can't guarantee that the Monarchs will make it out the door for Christmas, he is doing what he can to try and not disappoint anyone, including shipping a revised Monarch with it's own set of issues.

I am in communication with Richard every few days to find out when my Monarch is coming (let's just say that I had a realistic view of flipping it about a month ago), he did change the blades a little bit as to eliminate some of the major problems, I was hoping to have it this week (what I say every week ) but I'll give Richard a call to find out how much that has changed. He is a really great guy to talk to, very personable and friendly.
