I've been thinking (dangerous as hell) about getting one of these after the numerous pic pitdog has posted. I'm looking for a few more pics, in hand, in sheath, etc, to push me over the edge. I have more knives than I need, but I find myself getting fussy (old age) about the particulars of my knives, i.e. handle length, rounded and contoured handle, hotspots, blade edge...

I have almost all customs and no safe queens. I should just have a fire sale and get rid of the bulk of them, except for my favs, but what fun would that be? I'd just spend more money buying more. Ok, now I'm just rambling, been up since 3:30am (drives the GF crazy when she sees the glow from the computer, she thinks I'm nuts. I keep telling her she's right :D)

So please feel free to post up some pics, pitdog. Tell me why I should get one. (Pssst...maybe others will get one too).

I think the TTSK might well have the best handle of any of my knives. It feels very comfy in any grip you take. The wide blade is also perfect for many tasks and enables you to also use it in a pinch grip for fine work or use it like an Ulu for cutting food.

If I have one complaint it is that the blade isn't sharpened all the way to the ricasso. This was my fault for not explaining this to John when I sent him the drawing.
When I designed my Knatchet I was very carefull to give as much detail as I could and John made it EXACTLY as I had wanted it.
So if ya ask me if you should get a TTSK I'd say for sure but if it was me I'd ask that the blade be sharpened all the way back !

A thought, if sharpened all the way, is the guard (curve ) enough?

Yeah the curve is enough, I have some other knives that way and they are fine !

Check out the Koster Nessmuks or go to Dave Farmers website and check out his knives they are all like that and work just fine !
IMO Johns knives have better handles than both of those so you would have nothing to worry about !

I think that with a slightly sharper curve by the ricasso, a scandi edge all the way to the handle would be sweet!

Found a couple more pics, maybe John still has the original design specs:

It`s 8 3/4" overall, 4" blade, 2" at it`s tallest, and 1/8" thick. Kydex would work fine with this design.
