early Colt Combat Commander series 70 and a "urban bowie", sure was fun to make :D

That looks to be one of those personal carry small tacticals like the ones I saw in the latest issue of Blade. That is a real nice one. this is quickly becoming one of my favotite styles of knives. I think this type of knife is going to be very popular for a long time to come. Especially if we keep seeing ones that look this good.

thanks guys. Its a forged 1084 blade, 4.5", mortise tang construction, nickel silver trim, pistachio wood handle. It was really fun to make, a nice break from the big ones!

I think the customer had seen the "personal knives" and wanted something very similar. Without seeing the photos, this is what i came up with.

The Combat Commander is a real early 70 series, back when they were fit very well (more like the old Commercial Colts). Bought it with the original papers, 2 peice box etc.... Its a nice one.

Sweet combo Mr. Lamey
You make some fine knives, I hope to one day get one of your Bowies! Errrr, make that two or three because I can't decide which ONE I like best!:D

Moving (without prejudice) to Gallery. (BTW, nice knife, Matt. ;))

MAtt, great looking bowie, I like it. By the way, the .45 is great, I have a 70 series (a gift from dad),and I love it.

Matt,

EVERYTHING you make is incredible. Seriously! The grinds look awesome, the geometries scream USE ME! And, you are a nice guy! I told you this before, but you were one of the first people to e-mail me when I joined the forums. You gave me 1095 heat treat info and offered to heat treat a piece for me if I wasn't confident in doing it myself. I never ended up heat treating the 1095, because I ruined it trying to grind out somethign that resembled a knife!!!

Keep up the awesome work, and thansk for being such a cool guy too.

Well Done Matt! Your new design has a really nice balance to it. Reminds me of the balance to the eye of the Loveless Chute Knife but with your blade style. Keep up the good work.

Brad

thanks again fellas. Crayola, dont give up, i have a whole pile of blades that never made it. I use them to heat up my heat treat oil, so in an odd way they serve a purpose (and reminder).

I will still treat one if you get it made.

Greetings, I keep coming back to this thread to look at that beautiful knife. Since you have made one, is this going to be a regular model you offer? If so, what may the general price be? And, lastly, your site says that sheath options can be explored... can you elaborate? I remember from the Blade article that some of these "personal" type knives had Kenny Rowe sheaths. Have you ever made any arrangements with him to make sheaths for your creations? Sorry for all the questions, but I just can't help myself. ;)

Mongo, i plan and hope on making more. I dont want to tie any knife to 1 sheath type, so i like the customer to give me some feedback on how they like to carry etc. This one carries well with a Rowe concealment with belt loop.
