This is a follow up on my Thread: Ok I'm stumpted from the other day.
I roughed out both handle styles.
I also did two guards.
Now I need your help in deciding a good combination that "FITS" this blade style.
Thanks to all of you who helped on this project!

not a fan of coke bottles except on daggers. I like the simple oval gaurd, but the c-gaurd is a close second.

Nice blade

Brian

Two handles.. one blade! What's the problem.....make another blade! That's the fun part!

Bob,
I realize we are supposed to be voting on one of the above, but looking at the blade style, I keep visualizing a graceful dropped handle with a S-guard, sort of like this:

i vote with primos, #2 and 3 are to straight. some drop in the rear of the handle, for leverage and comfort looks like the best to me.

They all look great Bob,Guess You will just have to make two more blades and do all three. :D :D

I'm with Primos on this one. Take that Curved guard and shorten it or curl it into a nice "S" guard.

I have to say I like the coke bottle handle with the staight oval guard, but I might like the "other" handle better with a "S" guard. It's mighty close, though I will say I don't like the third C guard as much as either of the first two choices.

Mike, just to make sure I don't get myself in trouble here, I better quickly say that's not a Terry Primos Bowie. It's a pic of Bob Hankins blade and a pic of a Joe Flournoy handle and guard merged together.

What about a coffin handle with a D guard? Wait a minute that wasn't on the list. No coffin handle, then break the edges on the coke bottle and smooth it up a bit, but with an S guard.

I think I like the coke bottle handle but not with the ovel
gaurd. I think the wood needs to be a lot darker.
or just chuck it and go with bone or antler....
I got a nice stag Crown that would look nice right there..
:)

I love that blade! I'm not sure I like either wooden handle though. The countoured one would be much more user friendly; the coke-bottle more interesting and stylish; but frankly im not sure either are just the thing for that particular blade in my minds eye. The S-shaped guard with the ha'penny quillion finials is Perfect! That and a nice gnarly crown stag would do it. There is such a nice sweep to the blade that my eyes wants a complementary downward swoop to the handle also. we aren't being very helpful are we? :)

Say, am I NOT seeing a plunge grind on this Robert? Looks like it tapers off into the choil (like I do :))
