First. I pulled a few knives out of "deep storage" today and there is rust on some of the bead blast blades. Rats. I store with scilica crystals and wd-40 lightly on blades but still I get rust. Do you have any suggestions on how to prevent this "storage Rust"

Second, Do you guys use any oil. or preventative measures when storing knives? If so what do you recommend?

Thanks

Ren

I haven't had any problems with knives stored for longer periods of time--8-9 months--using Tuf-Cloth. The summer cottage where they were stored is pretty damp, too.

I also have had good luck with Sentry Solutions products. Use the Marine Tuf-Cloth for severe conditions. Get rid of any rust spots with Flitz or Simichrome or some other metal cleaner. Then wash off any remaining residue and coat with the Tuf-Cloth. Good luck.:)

Another vote for the Tuf-Cloth from Sentry Solutions. I personally use the Marine Tuf-Cloth, which is a little more concentrated than the original. In conjunction with the cloth, I also use Tuf-Glide for the pivot action, as well as a little on the blade for a little extra protection against rust.;)
