Tyrade times two

My Tyrade arrived today. One thing I was wanting to do was to compare the two and see if the construction was consistent. My first was had a BOD of Jan. 08, and the one today is marked Feb. 08.

First thing I did was to compare the two as to construction, anodizing, and action. These are definately two peas in a pod! I could not tell one from the other. The lock up was dead on for both of them with about 1/2 of the blade tang being covered by the lock. The stiffness in the lock bar was identical in both and being a tad stiff is a good thing in my book. The ease of disengaging is also the same for both of these. I would definately say that these Tyrades are some of the most consistent production knives I've seen, and I've had plenty of "doubles" in the past and a few right now.

Man, these Tyrades are NICE!!:thumbup::D:thumbup:

Oh yeah, jury is still out about taking the Tyrade apart. May just wait until I've had more time to research it.:D

Why are you trying to compare the two anyway? Are you concerned that they are being made in different countries and/or manufacturers?

Topspeclt, to address your first question, I believe he is commenting on the consistency of Kershaw's productions, and by default, their QC. As for your second question, well it's not even worthy of a response.

cutter, glad you like em. I'd seriously consider waiting until more is revealed by Thomas or tommie as to the construction of the knife before you go tearing it apart! :D

Exactly what I was attempting to do. Kershaw definately ROCKS!!:D

Yep, I'm now thinking that this is the thing to do. As well as everything is working on this knife it just reminds me of the old adage, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Thanks for your 'polite' response SPXTrader.

If you lot believe in Kershaw QC so 'fundamentally, 'fanatically' and 'extremely' why are you checking QC anyway!

I -know- they are all made in the US, my second question was to potentially enlighten the one that needs to do a user QC check in the first place!

SPXTrader - Somebody doing QC on a Kershaw knife! - isn't that blasphemy in your books too? I find your responses to MY posts not very socialible and if you feel strongly against that then you are welcome to try to 'slap' me. :jerkit:

Lighten up and/or get laid! If you can that is...:jerkit:

Dude, take your own advise and lighten up.
I don't see the problem with someone taking 2 knives and comparing
them. This is a forum. We discuss things. I don't see where SPX was
being dis-sociable. Take the " jerk its " somewhere else. We see enough
crap in here as it is.

Have a great day, :)

ok first off, answer me this, when you get a new knife, say a benchmade, do you look it over to make sure that it is OK? that it meets your standards? if you answer yes to those questions, then why the heck are you asking cutter17 those questions? if i had two, say BM Rukus, i would check them and compare them just to make sure that they met MY standards. doesnt mean that i don't have faith in BM's QC, but i want to make sure that there is no defect by MY book. thats all that cutter17 is doing.

cutter even says that he has seen few production knives that were exactly alike. same goes for me. that is all he was doing. thats what I do.

as for your comments to SPX, i would back off if i were you. a little info for you: SPX (along with others that frequent this forum) is friends with those that work at Kershaw. with that comes alot of covering eachothers back. he will defend them and, believe me, could beat most people in a test of knowledge on Kershaw. i doubt you know that much to begin with

as for your last sentence, give me a reason not to report you to glockmann or any other mod?

I see nothing wrong is comparing knives at all! It's simply that SPXTrader finds my question so objectionable then what about people questioning Kershaw QC?

I'll say it again, I have no problem with what Cutter17 is doing and would always encourage all to check and compare. I'm only questioning SPXTrader attitude.

You didn't jump at the opportunity to warn SPXtrader when he said I needed to be SLAPPED (in another thread)!

Sorry, late to the party. I was out doing other deeds that don't need mentioning here. :D

topspeclt, try not to take things too seriously, the fellas are all good at heart, and this is a great sub-forum to hang out. Seems like you'd be missing out if you never came back.

That's true. Sometimes we get a little heated over certain things.
We're pretty tight here.
TW is right, this is a great sub-forum.
