I really like the look of this new model from Mike Vagnino. It's got just enough Persian in it to distinguish it from the "tactical knife" school, but is very simple and understated--unlike the really fancied up Persians that seem to be very common. There's an article in the May 2002 Blade on this knife.

Ordered mine at OKCA, it will be carbon fiber with S30V blade. Mike is very flexible with his options, clip or no clip, point up or point down carry. I went with a clip, point down.

Very nice. I don't often like an upswept blade, but this one does not go overboard and so I find that I like it quite a lot.

That is a nice piece Steve. I'm also not a huge fan of the upsweep.., but held within limits it is esthetically pleasing. Thanks for the picture...

Steve,

Very nice choice from Mr. Vagnino, seems you had a great time at the OKCA show.

I had a great time at OKCA, and really the knives were just the tip of the iceberg. I'm happy that I still like the choices I made, because I did start to wonder how clearly I was thinking in the midst of a show. It's a tough atmosphere in which to practice restraint and intelligent purchasing.

As you guys have noted, this design is a restrained upsweep, and actually sort of restrained in general. I really like this particular look, not that MV's other designs are not worthy, but this one just caught my eye.

Here's another picture with the Blade article I mentioned above. The author had a very positive review of the knife after testing its performance, so I would say this design is not "just a pretty face".
