ANY ONE HAVE OPINIONS OF THE VALUE OF SOUTH AFRICAN MADE REEVE KNIVES COMPARED TO THE ONES MADE IN IDAHO? DO THEY STILL SERIALIZE THE ONE PIECE LINE? I HAVE A 7 IN. CLIP POINT BOWIE,MID- 200 SERIAL RANGE. GREAT KNIFE AND EXTREMLY SHARP.

I had two 7" bowies with the same serial number. One was marked made in South Africa and one was made in the USA. I met Mrs. Reeves at the blade show in Atlanta and asked her how that was possible. She stated that they began numbering the US made knives (from number one) when they moved here. According to several South Florida knife dealers that I trust, the South African knife is worth approximately $100 more in this area. This is subject to someone being willing to pay a premium for what is otherwise an identical knife to the US made one. I hope that this info is of use.
