Hope all you guys had a great Christmas!
I did among the cool stuff was a beautiful 2001 Vintage bone Case Sowbelly:thumbup: Another pattern i hadnt previously considered, but like my saddlehorn it's got a nice grip. Plus 3 blades to choose from and it's purty:)
But the darn thing bit me last night, i think it's got a taste for blood now:eek:...
I use most of mine in the kitchen and was slicing up some onion and you all know the rest... got me good, no stiches though.
Funny thing is i always thought it'd be one of my yeller handles that would get me.
It's really a beautiful pattern though a real handfull but not really that large, nice pocket carry
Still without a camera so no picts.
Anybody else like the sowbelly? Vampire variety or not?
all the best
ivan
P.S. Dont know 'bout everybody else but all my Case have come Laser Beam sharp and now i can appreciate just how sharp!

My knives stopped having vampiric features long ago (perhaps due my addiction in garlic?) but paper's around me and those darn hard plastic cover are more blood thirsty than any of my knives have been.

Sowbelly is beautiful pattern, something I want to own later. Year 2010 is good year to start searching my very own sowbelly or 2011 when Case stops vaulting that pattern rumor says. Anyway congrats on having sowbelly.

I like sowbellies...

Beautiful sowbellies Elliot! That Ruple Sowbelly is especially nice.

Thanks!

(I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific as there are two Ruple's to choose from. :p)

as always beautiful examples of a pattern, i especially like the ruple (middle one, reddish) has a cool blunted spey, like a bulldog real short muzzle:thumbup:
I'm a little shocked to see case Vaulted the 'belly:eek: Minimum of three years, i had no idea...
i hope to get my camera arrangement worked out this year, this really stinks not being able to shoot my stuff:(
Thanks guys
ivan
P.s. Blues any of those draw blood? :)

I don't think any of these porcine patterns have drawn blood.

My last real gusher (that made me consider an emergency room visit) was from a 70's vintage Case 6347HP (stockman). Really strong springs and you should never try to answer your wife's question while opening the master blade absentmindedly... (I thought my thumb would never be the same ;))

Ya' gotts ta' love a Sowbelly. Used mine the other night to butter rolls and cut steak ;)

Have to be honest....I'm not a fan and don't own one. The shape just never appealed to me. If I fiddled around with one a bunch, I might change my mind I suppose.

Christmas Sowbelly that bit me...
Scanned as my camera is busted.
Looks harmless enough, but it's blood thirsty!
Been my EDC along with my Yeller CV Stockman since the 25th
I think it'll work out fine, really nice size though, actually fits in my coin pocket on my jeans.
cheers

Blues, you can't possibly use all those sowbellies--how about sending me the Ruple whittler!! :D Seriously though, you got too many nice knives.

The last Case that bit me was a large saddlehorn. The big spey fell on my finger when I was wiping it down, and it took a drink. Hell, they're all vampires, only some of them just don't know it yet!

I think I'll just hold on to it for now...but thank you just the same! ;):cool:

yes and i'll blame the left side for the cut... it does look a bit ornery!
Really liking this pattern, and the spey blade almost has a pistol grip hold when open and in use... really growing on me.

Richard Rogers made this one. His work is very fine!
