Well hello there folks.

a few of us on the forums here met up to play with blades in the pristine woods that make up bc. everyone brought blades to play with and there were plenty to go around.

heres some shots from today. hopefully more bc members will come out for future meetups.

Todays meetup consisted of Bushman5, Munky88 and myself.

hopefully future bladeforums meetups will have a few more members. :D

right on.. it's cool to see folks getting together... a small band of BF guys get together regularly here in Ca... it's always a lot of fun...

thanks for sharing the pix..:)

thanks mike. hopefully we will get a few more members coming to the next one.

yea good times! we built rabbit sticks (i made one suitable for dispatching humans....) , apache stars, spoons, and I set a trip wire and a vietnam war style sprung stick spike thingy. we debated about digging a punji pit but decided it was too muchwork.......so we Ate food, brewed coffee, had a blade exchange, and stuck all of our knives into a tree stump.

Nice location! The WNY Meetup was fun too. It's good to spend time with like-minded people, and their knives.

Way to go guys!
Wish I could have been there with you, but was helping out friends
who were dealing with the fire evacuations up here in Kamloops.

Maybe we can work something out to be able to get together a little bit
further north later on in the fall when things cool down and the fires are
dealt with.

Cheers
Dave

I missed this post somehow !!!

Sounds like it was a great trip guys, can't help thinking how much bother you'd have been in if you'd been caught starting that fire though !!!!!

What did you mean by that? Are no fires allowed?

theres a fireban through most regions at the moment i think.

@pit: it was a small fire that didnt get any bigger than it is in the photos :) besides we were WAY off the trail and no sheeple would be around to tell on us anyways :D

Awesome! Looks like a great time. I am particularly partial to the fire-starting photos. Definitely an innovative base for a PJCB, and during a fire ban, too!

I dub this the West Coast Rebel Cheese Fire method of ignition.

Thanks for posting.

All the best,

- Mike

For anyone interested that Doesn't regularly check the Canadian forum. We may be having a shelter building excursion in the next few weeks. so check in.

baby bel cheese is a great food to carry for emergency purposes. cheese is high in calcium, phosphorous, protein, fat soluble vitamins and B vitamins.

the wax covering that comes with baby bel cheese is just a bonus. it keeps burning and helps wet wood ignite.

I don't think I have ever been on an extended trip without a nice big block of cheese in my pack, but I have never gone the wax-wrapped route before. It does make sense, especially because of the multi-use potential.

I traded a Maxpedition Jumbo & a SF flashlight to JCA21 for his SOTECH GO-BAG

i think my MSR REACTOR, 40 oz SS flask < :D and ti cup pack nicely into the bag eh? room in all the side slash pockets for 6 ramen pouches, 10 tea bags, and survival gear in the 3 outer pockets (i only took pics of the main compartment)

i'm gonna carry this around the city and brew a cuppa wherever i dang well please! :D:D:D
