Vantage scale/handles interchangable?

Hi Knives community,

First of all; I am new on this forum and after mustering all courage I finally wrote my first post. Meh... Hooray to me, I guess.
I am by no means a knife professional and some of you may refer to me as the cliche "youngins' ", since I've never owned a Buck110, can call less than three knives my own and the worst I'd ever done to a knife is cutting carboard and filament package straps. Also, please excuse my rather modest english proficiency since english ain't my primary language.

Normally I am not much into knives and normally it doesn't matter to me wether I use a dull boxcutter, a fruitknife or my keys to get the work done.
Unussually, after roaming on google, a sudden blackout and missing 60$, I found myself blissfully filling out a purchase order form for a Vantage Avid large.
It arrived two weeks ago and has seen daily use since then. 13C27's edge retention is amazing and I would not trade it in again for said dull boxcutter, less the fruitknife!
My main gripe, aside from the missalligned blade however are the dymonwood handles.
They look gorgeous, feel warm and fill my heart with fuzzy feelings, nothing bad about that... But they "are" slippery and unsafe to work with when opening packages for longer than three to four hours.

I don't regret having bought one and I would immediately buy the cheaper Vantage select Large to interchange it's glass reinforced nylon handles with the one from the Avid, for the sole reason of already having "stained" the Avid's blade. I am not sure however if they are build the same way.

Having read of true Buck fans on this forum that own up to six different Vantages, I would be thankfully for confirmation wether the handles are interchangable between the larger Vantages and fit up to the last iota.

Thanks in advance!

all Vantage models can interchange the scale with the exception of the Vantage Force (it might be able to, but I have to check that..)

I have interchanged parts (and no doubt voided the warranties) from every single Vantage model except the Vantage Force Pro. I used to carry the glass-reinforced nylon scaled Vantage Select, then I got a wallyworld special Dymondwood-handled Vantage Select and swapped the blades because I wanted to keep using my original blade with the new Dymondwood handles. The Select's Dymondwood handles are identical to the Avid's handles except they have a dull finish instead of a satin shine. Later I got a Vantage Pro and swapped the scales from my Dymondwood Select to the Pro so I could keep using my Dymondwood scales with the new S30V blade. And then I got a Vantage Force Avid, and I swapped the non-Force Pro's G10 scales onto that knife because the Force Avid's aluminum scales were a little sharp for me.

So, in summary, yes, you can interchange scales from any of the Vantage models with each other (including the Vantage Force series), as long as they're the same size (obviously you can't swap the small Vantage scales with the large ones). =P

Edit: Here are my EDC blades. I've since modified the G10 scales, but I decided to post this picture because it more clearly demonstrates the interchangeability of parts between the Vantage models.

As you can see, the top knife looks like an Avid, but the number on the blade is 347, which is the Pro S30V blade. And the knife on the bottom is the 846 Force Avid 13c26 blade, but paired with G10 scales left over from the non-Force Vantage Pro.

Hence the need for buck to offer scale kits. If it's good enough for guns why not the Vantage?

Thanks for clarifying guys!
Guess I will buy the select altogether with its scales and blade just to get the Avid-Vantage downgraded for working efficiency.

Call me crazy for buying a knife for its scales, but I'd rather spend a few more "bucks" than loose a finger over it. Ha!

+2 I agree and have said that from the beginning-

note to the 1st time swapper-when you pull the pivot pin out-insert a nail or at least a paper clip so the blade doesnt accidently fall out of place and the washers fall out. They are a pain to get in and line back up.

I just fully dismantle the knife when swapping parts. Makes it easier to clean up the pivot area and relube it and such. :D
