I'm thinking about picking one up as my EDC for light duties that doesn't enough using pliers. Is it any good?

The Spartan is an excellent choice. You might want to pick up one of the little eye-glass screwdrivers that threads into the corkscrew.

The Spartan Lite (US model #53451) actually comes with the mini-screwdriver already -

A Froogle.com search finds it as low as $24.......

It's a great knife/light combination....

I've got a Spartan Lite and it's a nifty little thing. The LED light is nice and bright. I do wish it had scissors, though.

Excellent EDC...!

I carry mine everyday in the office and on the weekends. I carry this in my pocket, no sheath.

I strongly recommend it.

just picked up one today and I am very statisfied. Victorinox never lets me down. I like the Ruby handle better than the regular red plastic ones, it just looks so much closer IMO. The LED light is handy for close up illuminating in the dark, such as reading a map. The mini screwdriver is cleverly designed and fits perfectly into the corkscrew. The Spartan Lite is now my EDC along with my Leatherman P4 (pliers).
