I went fishing with a couple buddies. My friend has vast experience with catfishing. He shows a couple unusual ways to fish. My other friend shows how to build a lantern stand with natural materials. Come along for the trip!

interesting. not too off the wall. similar catfishing techniques are done down here to. good post though thanks
 
Thanks for watching guys. We actually didn't catch anything but I don't care. I'll catch something eventually. I have a standing invite for every Wednesday and Friday night.
 
Take one of them sunfish, use the circle hook, run the hook through the bottom lip and come out a nostril on top. Add a weight and bottom fish with the live sunfish.

We did that last night. I didn't show it on the video for time constraints but still no luck.
 
Hmmmm Relocate lol. Get a bag like the one onions come in. Almost like a little net. Fill with cheap canned chunky dog food. Throw the bag out say Weds. night. by Fri. night it should have attracted some cats by dissolving. If you catch some refill the bag and throw it back out for the next trip. Fast moving water will cause it to dissolve quicker. Can ya tell if there are any deep holes, sunken trees, logs etc. ?

The guy I was with has the area pretty well figured out. This is the first time in a long time he's been skunked. Last time they caught a 12 pounder and a 10 pounder as well as some eating fish. I just bring stink to a fishing party for a while, then it picks up. We didn't relocate because we were having a good time and we know the hole is good. It was just an off night. Good idea on the bag though. Gonna try that.
 
Good video, thanks for sharing. I know of several good catfish spots, but every once in a while they just don't bite. It happens to everyone. I don't do it to catch the fish, though. I do it to enjoy the outdoors. :thumbup:
 
Nice video thank you for sharing! Can't say I've been to where you guys where at but I like to fish the Des Moines river when I can.
