In WA state we have a concealed carry pistol license. I always thought it was for all weapons. I didn't know until now it said pistol. I always thought knives would be covered by this permit. Does anyone know if this will cover all knives? jimmyjo

yes just pistols, however the law tends to be very leniant for other types of weapons if a citizen has a CCW. I lived in the Oak Harbor area while in the Navy from 1989-1992

There aren't any state laws as far as I know, but some cities do have blade length restrictions. The cities of Tacoma, Seattle, and SeaTac (the city, noth te airport) have a limit of 3.5 inches, and Seattle at least prohibits the carry of any length of fixed blade. Other cities might have similar laws.

We did have Concealed Weapons permits in the past, but they were phased out in the mid 90's, and replaced by the CPL.

As was mentioned, check your local regulations for any restrictions on blade length or type. Automatic knives are illegal except for LEO's, military, and approved EMS/rescue personnel.
