A few photos demonstrating some of the uses and how well the kit fits up with the Izula. Izula is not included in the kit. Kit is shipping to dealers now.

This may be a stupid question, but is the hole in the mirror so that you can make sure you are lined up with what you are trying to signal?

We designed it to merge with the Izula. And it does that very well.

Does this kit have all the cards included in both the nav card set and survival card set?

No, the cards for this kit are specific for the kit even though they cover some of the same information

What's the metal tube with the red end to be used for? I've never seen anything like that and I'm not quite sure what you're trying to show in your pics.

Are zip-ties the official way to attach it to the Izula sheath?

Rare Earth magnets used as a compass. There is no "official" way to attach it but the cordura wallet has a belt loop for that purpose.

The magnet is floating on the leaf to give you your magnetic azimuth of true North

I think Jeff was just showing you how to attach the Izula to the kit...I'd use 550

Magnets can be used to magnetize other things as a compass needle also. They are very easily concealed and hidden. That's the whole thing about this kit. It's really small but it is useless for E&E if you don't properly conceal the items (concealment techniques are printed on the cards). It should also be noted that depending on who takes you, even proper concealment may not work. With that said, TYPICALLY first line combatants and enemies are usually not that bright in the places we haunt. Escaping from first line guys is your best shot at freedom. As you get passed up the ranks though, the enemy typically gets smarter and takes more things from you and searches better. Read the articles below:

I really like that set up. Will have to "urbanize" it a little to EDC in Los Angeles. Great idea though. I like the magnet idea as well. I always teach my science students how to make their own compass using a magnet and piece of a paper clip.
