Went into the local Walmart yesterday to see if they were going to carry any of the new Vantage Force models and saw their new line up totally dropped ALL Vantage models as well as several others, added a few new models but over all seemed to be cutting back on Buck and carrying way more garbage. At least my local Bi-Mart still carry's a pretty good line up of Buck as well as the Vantage Select but no Avid or Pro. It will be interesting to see if they start carrying the Force. Still rejoicing in the fact of getting the last 2 Vantage Selects in Dymondwood from Wallyworld not long ago. They are my absolute favorite EDC's and knives I own. It will be hard to unseat them. Although A Pro would be nice, the gorgeous grain of my 2 Dymondwood's for me outweighs the S30V.

I felt the exact same way until I got my Kershaw OSO Sweet last week:D.I havent even looked back at my Vantage Select, and it was my favorite EDC for a long time.If you're as big of a Vantage fan as I am,you owe it to yourself to try one of these Kershaws.Im not sure if theres a better knife out there for $20.00;)

Walmart may not get the Force, but most of the smaller retailers most likely will. Gotta love the Diamonwood scales, good looking and they get a good amount of attention when you pull out your knife.

The Kershaw is not a bad little knife. Downside is it is made in China and I am betting Buck's heat treated 420HC is better then the AUS6 that is heat treated in China IMHO

When I was at my Walmart a week or so ago they had the 110, the 119 and I think of of the China made slipjoints. Maybe a fixed blade Omni Hunter. That's about it.

My local one put out their new knife display board under the counter glass this week.

Only Buck's now are 110's, 119's, A Redpoint model and 1 or 2 "370" series imported slipjoints.

I figured the Vantage would be a permanent fixture in Wal Marts. They are on clearance or have been cleared out at most places. I don't get it. It's a well built $20 American Made knife with a lifetime warranty. I think this says more about the IQ of the typical Wal Mart shopper than it does with Buck Knives.

It seems Wally Worlds vary alot. Some still have Buck knives in a box locked under the counter while others have them in clam shells on a peg.I went to one that didn't even stock any knives at all.

It never even had a temporary place at in my local store. The only Bucks they carried were pretty much like Bear Claw said.

Of the three local one's here, only one had them and it was in the glass case with its picture and label of 101 and 103 and they were discounted, they have none now, but picture is still there. The other store only has a couple gerbers in blister packs. The third one still has the glass case also with pictures but never had any vantages.

I wouldnt care if it was made in BFE,and the new OSO Sweets are 8Cr13MoV,wich will take a sharper edge easier than 420hc.I do love my Vantage Select, dont get me wrong, but for the money, the Kershaw is alot nicer in every way based on my personal experience with both knives, but by all means, carry what you like, and like what you carry is all that matters:D

It isn't just the shoppers. It's the Wally World buyers' mantra that anything made in China will sell better than the same item made in the US. (Buyers are the folks that buy for Wally World. They determine what products they will carry). I won't shop at Wally World for that reason.
