This knife wasn't made to be a fighter but thats what I've been doing with it off and on for the last 4 days. Its my pain in the ass knife. This is another one made out of the shear steel from the old saw blade I had. Even got a better picture of the pattern in the steel this time. This has also got wrought iron and blackwood.

Dang, that stuff is cool, Ray. And this style in the last few pieces with that carved wrought iron is just great. Hope you have a ton of that steel, it's really neat.

Is that the actual texture of the steel cleaned up or did you do some sort of finish to it? I think I'm gonna have to find me one of those saw blades. Bill Ogden just passed along a bear jaw to me that would look great with that style finish.

J. I did a 2 hour etch on this blade, if the steel isn't shear steel its not going to look like that. The piece of saw steel is over 100 years old and they no longer make steel the same way. Good luck on your steel hunt...

Very nice, I really like the pattern in that steel.
The handle treatment and blade style kind of remind me
of the gaucho/Mediterranean pattern knives I am very fond of.
Well done,thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Greg

Thanks for sharing Ray, That is some wild pattern for any steel. Im going to look for a blade like that too. Oh, Good work on the knife as well.
