Does anyone know of any good custom folder makers in washington state (the seattle area)?some one in the class of kit carson or rob simonich

I'm not sure about Washington, (or even Western Washington), but I know there are quite a good number of makers out of Eugene, OR a few hours south of Yelm (at least I think Eugene is a few hours south).

P.S. I hope makers from Western Washington chime in, I'm up in seattle and would love to hear from you.

If I remember correctly, Phil Boguszewski lives (or recently lived) in Tacoma . . . he would certainly fit your qualifications as an excellent maker of folders.

Oops, maybe there aren't as many as I thought. Bob Lum, and Jess Horn I know for sure are in Eugene.

Also near Safeco Field in Seattle, there is "Bladesmiths" owned by Bob Kramer who makes very nice kitchen knives.

Yes you should look up Will Stegner. He lives
in Rochester and is always at the Puyallap
gun shows.I have a couple of his knives excellent quality and reasonably priced. He has a web site you should check out some of his work.I don't have the url but a search should find it.I also have one of his knives for sale if interested a damascus folder.
Thanks Scott

Knives 2000 sorts the makers by state. There's ballpark 30 makers listed in Washington, and about a dozen of those list themselves as folder makers. Roger Dole isn't listed, so how many others slipped through the cracks?

Boguszewski is still listed in Tacoma, but doesn't seem to have a website. His Piranha folder looks hot.

My mother in law hinted at getting me a new chef's knife for my birthday. I kind of hope she doesn't, because I've been drooling over Bob Kramers website.

does anyone have a web site address for this knives 2000 that lists makers by state?thanks for the help.

Knives 2000 is a book written/compiled by Ken Warner. It's full of interesting articles and a pretty comprehensive list of custom makers, with specialties, addresses, phone numbers, price ranges...

Check out http://www.krause.com
It's available through amazon.com among other places.
