is it possible for a knife to get confiscated while being shipped into washington state from ohio?
how big is the chance (for a legal and illegal knife)?

As long as it's not an automatic you're fine. Knives are not illegal to own, carry or ship across the country.

Packages within the country aren't normally subject to inspection, unless they're some sort of dangerous material that'd require special shipping in the first place.
