Why did Hermanknives' latest thread get locked?
We used to have these questions asked all the time.
"What's the best knife to?" threads were and are some of the more fun and funny threads in this Forum. Ever.
This thread had the potential to be hilarious. A break from the same old questions being asked over and over and over... ad nauseum.

Geez.

I would like to know as well. I have seen the same old crap asked over and over....and over. Tim tries to ask one of those, and add a little humor as well....and BAM!!! Lock that puppy down. Mike comes on and says Tim is testing him, and to keep posts within certain limits. Well Mike, I have seen posts that are seemingly outside the limits that never get locked. How about the best offensive weapon thread...that guy was a real dork. And there was the ever popular...best knife against bears, sharks and so on, those were just stupid. How many times a week do we have to see, best tactical knife, best knife for peanut butter (GAWD)...Oh well, good thing Tim didnt ask about peanut butter...ya would have locked it and we would never have known the answer to that very important question.

While im at it, whats the best knife for spreading whipped-cream on your spouses buns?

I'm a big fan of those threads also...I even got some personal hate-email for my "Who like small furry things...?" thread so I must be doing something right

This is just a guess but, maybe because instead of acting like a grown up Moderator, Tim posts all kinds of bizarro, off the wall crap and then acts like a victim when his dumba$$ threads get locked? Tim will post stuff that`s totally out of the bounds of either topic or good taste, then ask "Why did you lock my thread? Everyone is picking on poor me!!" It gets old in a hurry.....

steve......blow me

as i tell others, you dont like my posts, why you read them??? seems rather stupid to me. but im just a dumba$$ i guess

If we get a rash of "best knife for peanut butter, jam, yogurt, oatmeal, pilaf, and creamed corn" threads, we'll bounce them over to the Community/Clean Humor forum. For pushing the envelope of good taste we have the password-protected W&C forum. Mike Turber got to the thread in question before I could.

As for that loose thread in another sub-forum here on "offensive knives," other moderators in other sub-forums here have their own levels of tolerance.

Jeez Steve B.

Lighten' up.

We were just having a little fun and messing around. Don't sweat the small stuff. This thread was going to self-destruct in a humorous and harmless fashion anyway.

I certainly don`t get my undies in a bundle over Tim`s idiocy. I was just answering the question. Tim`s eloquent response seems to confirm my suspicions that he`s just a dumba$$ that happens to be a great knifemaker. Go figure...

What`s most annoying about Tim`s antics is when he acts like he no idea why his threads get locked. It doesn`t take an Einstein to figure out why his threads get locked, and as a Moderator, he ought to have a clue as to why his threads get locked. Who knows, maybe he really DOESN`T understand why he gets locked!

As a world class knifemaker, you`d think Tim would have a lot to offer the forums, but he elects to treat the forums like his own personal playground to make dumb jokes and criticize other members. I can`t remember the constructive post I`ve seen from Tim.

Tim, as a comedien, you make a great knifemaker!

Tim, as a moderator you've been entrusted with some responsibility to moderate the tone of discussion here at BF, and are therefore held to a higher standard than the rest of us. As a knifemaker, BF represents more exposure and opportunity for business than you could ever generate on your own.

Perhaps you need to reflect on whether your topics and your propensity to tell the rest of us in this community of potential customers to "bl0w me" is really in your own or BF's best interest.

Moderators should be held to a higher standard than the general public. Terms like "Blow me" should be strictly left in the W&C forum where they belong. I have to agree with Steve and RH!

#@!! Since this not about knives, but about moderation, and I'd rather not try to be the "impartial" host of a discussion on "What's the best knife to use on wine and cheese," (Leatherman Flair?), I think I'll toss this one over to BladeForums.com Service and Support, a forum that can use a little action maybe, and where the topic description says
Technical Support, Suggestions, Feedback, and Customer Service...
