Since it's been shown to be possible with the upcoming waved E4 and D4, is there any chance of getting a waved Tasman Salt?

I don't see a problem with that. Looks to be a perfect candidate for the Wave mod to me.

STR

A waved hawkbill sound like fun STR. I think you need to pimp one and show pics

Uhh...I'm new here. I've seen this and other Spyderco threads refer to the wave mod. What is it?

Thanks in advance.:)

Hmmm.....waved Tasman Salt huh?

The "Tasman Salt" on the side of the blade would probably have parts of it missing, but that's a minor cosmetic difference.

Still...seems kinda small for a wave to be any fun, now waving a Spyderhawk on the other hand...

Sounds like my next project.:D

Wasn't the discontinued Spyderhawk only a half-inch longer (blade) than the Tasman/Harpy/Merlin?

shadowblade, well you just made me go downstairs and open the safe.

I took out my pe Merlin and one of my pe Spydrehawks. a quick measure with a ruler. The Merlin has about 2 7/8 inch blade with 2 1/2 cutting edge.
The spyderhawk 3 5/8 inch from handle to tip,3 3/8 cutting edge.( straight not measuring the curve)

the spyderhawk has a 1 3/4 inch over all (open) advantage.

Hummm, now that its back in my hand I want to add the Hawk back into my rotation.......

For me, if I'm going to have a waved blade, I want the whole knife to be larger. As posted above me, the Spyderhawk is significantly larger when open.

Hey Sal . . . what about bringing back the Spyderhawk? And how about making it even bigger? I think that'd be a much cooler knife than the Civilian, and it'd be the knife I'd buy everyone for birthday and Christmas presents. Anyone else want a bigger & better Spyderhawk? Fully serrated? With a black textured handle?

Don't worry about that, Tyr. There's a good chance that Spyderco will be coming out with a full-size hawkbill by the end of this year. And as far as I know, the handle will be black and textured, and you will *definitely* be able to buy an SE blade.

I Just saw a reference on another thread to an upcoming "Superhawkbill" . . . can anyone tell me more about this?

See the other thread...I just explained a little about it.

Wishing for a waved Tasman Salt?
How 'bout the Pickle? It's a hawkbill, with a removable wave. Coming soon, to a pocket near you (that is, if you live near anyone who - like me - is planning to get one).
