Just out of curiosity, do you think waving a Military would be a plausible mod, granted the knife is already drilled for tip up?

I know people that carry a Military that has been Waved that like it and at least one that doesn't like it at all and wishes that it was never done. If you're referring to the question of whether it be done or not, well yes. Its possible to do it. Just remember there is no going back. You can take metal away but you can't put it back once its gone. ;)

My friend Kevin might want to talk with you about swapping you his blade for yours but I'd have to be sure both locks mesh up and pass inspection before that was something I'd recommend. Generally speaking its not advisable but I have seen that work on more than one model from more than one company. Tolerances are pretty tight these days so there is a good chance it would work.

Thanks for your reply. I was just wondering how well the knife waves.

The knife in question is a CPM M4 Military, so I probably won't be doing a blade swap. I did have one that I did filework on before in S30V that I have since sold. If he was interested in this blade for the filework, let him know that I'd be happy to do the filework on his knife if he'd like. Just point him in my direction and I'll see if we can work something out.

Thanks again
Alex

Hi Steve, If this guy has another S30V plain edge blade and would like my waved blade we could both send our knives to you and if he wants to pay for the swap that is fine by me. The wave works awesome on mine but as Steve says I dont like the wave so my framelock Millie just does not get carried like it would if it was not waved. Let me know what you want to do. Kevin :D

Unfortunately, I do not own an S30V Military anymore, so no swap is gonna be able to be done with me.

Yeah they are probably not compatible anyways. Its more than a matter of the lock up being spot on but the detent has to work also and that could be off as well as pivot size so because one has an insert in the lock and the other doesn't it could also be a factor. Worth discussing though.

I've had requests over the years to do them on a host of knives. Not all have picture documentation. I have this habit of documenting one, usually one of the early ones and keeping those and not duplicating it after that. I did find some of both the Millie and Para Mil though. The one on Kevin's knife was not done by me and I don't have a pic of that one if that was what you are asking.

Thanks a lot for posting pictures and taking the time to reply to my thread. I think I will have to pass on this mod at this time. Being a rare knife, I don't wanna make any drastic mods to it that I may not like later on and it will be hard to replace it.
