Charlie's superb collection of Schrade Walden's inspired me to go out hunting for a few.

Well since he refuses to give me the keys to his Schrade collection safe I was forced to go out and buy my own.:p

I purchased these before Xmas and they arrived yesterday. Now this may surprise you but they are the first Schrade Walden knives that I have ever seen......
As a boy in America I had seen Old timers but never the older knives...... All I can say is these are really beautiful and what amazing walk and talk they have. The small stockman is really an exceptional piece and the prices were so reasonable.

I am definitely now on the hunt for more but I will still keep trying to get Charlie's alarm code out of him..........:D

Nice group, Steven.

Being influenced by Charlie is never a bad thing. ;)

Congrats on your new Schrades. It sure looks like you started out with some very nice ones... I only have a few, but the older Schrades really are incredible knives. As far as jigged Delrin goes, IMHO they did a great job with it.

BTW, I have a feeling Charlie doesn't have a safe. Its probably more like a bank vault :D

I have to agree that chasing Charlie can be an expensive pursuit, especially when you buy 6 at a time. :p

I tried for awhile to catch up, with encouragement from Charlie that I would because he was "old".

Then I found out that I was older than he was !

Fran

P.S. He keeps some of his finest in his sock drawer.

Must be an awful big sock drawer :D

I love the big hunter (bottom knife in the last pic), I have a soft spot for the biggest of the slippies and own hunters in a couple patterns...so much steel and scale...they are a pleasure to look at, hold, and use.

Thanks:thumbup:
And you know you can find them fairly easily around $60-00 that's a bargain in anyone's money.
When you think about what some modern 60 Dollar folding knives look like there is no comparison!

super nice. I dont own any;however, that well change soon

Thanks Rick I don't have any of yours and I will have to change that soon....
I am always a little to late at the sale boards.......
But Blade is only a few months away....:)

 UH OH you are in DEEEEEEP doo doo now that our MAN (Charlie) has influenced you (in a good way for knives; a bad way for yer pocket book!!!:D:p)

I keep sayin that the earth keeps tilting to the far North East:p

WE ALL LOVE YA Charlie!!!:D:o

I'm not sure it is a good idea to let Charlie know about any Schrades in good condition that are not already in his collection. You'd better upgrade your security at home.

top picture 3rd from the left. Is that a half whittler or full and what do they call that

That is an 804, 4" Whittler, and a has a tapered liner between the springs.

Great pattern. Waynorth has some old bone handled 804's that will knock the socks out of the drawer.

Yes Alfaholic, Charlie is a bad infulence! ;)
But if lovin those old Waldens is wrong i don't want ta be right.
Some real beauties there! And good pics too.
Thanks for posting them.
