I just had to open my mouth didn't I :)?

Well a while back I remember stating in a thread that I had never cut myself.

Not a good thing to say. While sitting on our sofa tonight I was flipping my new Calypso Jr opened and closed and sorta messing around with it. Some how I got it half way open and it was at a 90 degree angle to the handle. I then jabbed it straight down into my left palm ( I didn't do it on purpose ). Went in about 1/8th of an inch. Left a nice cut. I cleaned it out and it stopped bleeding after about 30 seconds. I guess I just got my welcome into the knife world.

Just wanted to share.

Thanks,
Fisher of Men :D

Edit: Just realized I should have probably put this in "Community".

If I was you, I would never say anything about stitches or limbs cut off.

1/8th inch? That don't even rate! Don't rate unless you have to use duct tape to make a pressure bandage, and it takes 3 days before the bleeding stops and you have the guts to take the dressing off to see how bad it really is. :)

Personally, I don't tell anyone about my self inflicted wounds untill a year or so later.

Good luck, you keep playing with those sharp objects and it will be worse.

You need to read NELSONMC's book - "The Proper & Safe Handling of Sharp Tools"! :D

You're lucky. I still haven't regained all the feeling or movement in my pinky after I cut it a couple months ago :(

Father-in-law loves to see my new knives. But every darn time, he slices himself open. Suprisingly, he's done some knifemaking and is a sort-of knife dealer.

When I first got my Spyderco Ronin I was fooling around with the carrying options and wasn't paying attention to where my index finger on my left hand was. I pulled it from the sheath hard...needless to say it was such a clean, beautiful cut and I was so proud of Spyderco.

Later that day I was showing some people my knife and they said "wow this is really sharp...you should be careful". To which I lifted my finger and said "I know". Then a tear came to my eye, a puppy ran by, 2 butterflies flew in, and the sun rose right above me...it was memorable!

Ok it wasn't quite that dramatic...there was only one butterfly.

He, he, I think many of us could show the scars on our hands as entrance cards in a knife club ;)
