I like having days off of work! I ground and Ht 6 blades from 1084 and 1 from 1095. I did a clay and oil HT on some, and clay and water HT on some. 2 blades of the 1084 with water cracked about 10 min after HT, didnt get them tempered in time.

On the upside, I made a really sweet hunter with Koa handles from the diff treated 1084.

AHHHHH!! Taz you just learned a valuable lesson. Now you now why it is imparative to temper imediately after quenching.
However I think the more mistakes a person makes the more they learn, so don't be too hard on yourself.
 
Yeah, i was cleaning off the clay stuff so i could see the temper colors. Oh well, I still have 3 or 4 more pieces of 1084, plus O-1 and D2 to play with
