After my last trip to the Dentist on Friday And having him pull the last 11 teeth from my mouth at on setting,I have had to recouperate over the weekend.I felt good enough to mess around in the shop on Saturday morning but at Donna's suggesting (take that as orders) I was not to push myself and take any chances of breaking the stitches open..So I have been reading old knife books and looking at pictures in the Book Bruce Bump loaned me and boy is my head full of ideas.I can't wait to get into the shop tomorrow, since the girls are back in school and Donna will be at work I can enjoy myself and start getting things done again.Plus I won't have a mouth hurting,I hadn't realized how much the teth were bothering me..Now just a couple of weeks untill I get my new dentures (no I'm not making Damascus teeth for them either:D )Just nice clean and not rotten white fake teeth for me now.The total teeth pull count in the last month is 22 so that is why I haven't been getting much done lately..But now it will be Balls to the Wall for me..YEAAAAAAAAAA:cool:
Just had to ramble a little as I am getting homesick for the shop.Seems like a weekend away from her is like going through withdrawls and I can't stand it..But I am looking forward to the Morning..If I am not around the forums much in the next week you will all know why now.I will be playing in the shop:D :D :D

hey bruce i think you should make a mini dragon slayer and have it put in one of the two front teeth.:D it would be totally cool. glad your feeling better and dont push it to hard for awhile

I REALLY LIKE the idea of going through old knife books for inspiration.

I REALLY HATE the idea of getting 11 teeth pulled.

I hope your mouth heals soon. I'm going through a little dental work myself just now, so I can empathize.

Hi, Bruce-- been there and I can readily sympathize--- Now you know what it is to have a bark that is worse than your bite! Ice cream and soup--better than nothing! Sandy

Glad to hear you are on the mend. I bet Donna has you on a mush diet for a while. I dont see why you dont at least have one of the front teeth damascus or if it is nickel silver I will have Tom Moro engrave something nice on it.

I get to go in the shop tomarrow too. Krista is going to church camp and Kaye is back to work. Ya-Hoo!!

Get rested up Bruce but keep your eye on the shop. Don't get in trouble with Donna, cause I don't think any of us out here could take that. I just did a knee surgery thing. Seems about the time I think the shop is looming in my future some other piece breaks. Teeth, knees, back, I would just like to make a knife. !!! Terry

Thanks Everybody.I have been healing prtty quick so far,I will keep it as easy as possiable this week.No forging till Thursday or Friday.Got a handle to put on and a metal sheath to make so that should keep me busy for a few days...
Checken soup and slim fast is a great diet..Maybe i can loose this knife makers shelf I have gained,But then again when the teeth are in I wil have to stay on some kind of diet as it has been so long since I could eat some of the food I like that I will be wanting to eat allot of things and will gain the shelf back:D
Maybe I will play with a different cheaper set someday,But for now I would like to see how I look with a regular white set of teeth and a nice smile.Donna might even like it as she has never known me with good teeth,Hay I better go on a diet then,But then she may want me to stay in more;) But what a alternative to the shop:D

Glad to hear the dentist ordeal is almost over Bruce. When You get the dentures make it a vendeta to keep them in.Debs Nephew didn't leave his in because of pain and his mouth never got used to them.I've heard that if you swish some bourbon around several time a day and swallow it that the new teeth break in better:D

OUCH!!!

Man, that just plain sucks Bruce. You sure seem young to need all your teeth pulled. Sorry to hear about that.

But it sounds like everything is on the sunny side and going back up. I am excited to see the products of this new-found inspiration! :D

heal up soon, buddy.

if for nothing else; to help me out.
everytime i read about your dentist ordeal i get this eerie sensation and end up having to go brush my teeth... again.
:D

enjoy the shop, just dont go too wild.

D.

Bruce,
Please, tell me you were 'knocked out' when those 11 were pulled! Take care & get well, soon.

I've still got all my teeth, it's just that they aren't all in my mouth any more.

But I've still got 'em, just in case.

Nope I was wide awake when they pulled them.A few shots and then the pliers went in and teeth came out.I am actually doing better than I had expected,Just a little tender in spots.Spent the day in the shop doing easy stuff and tomorrow I will get a blade rubbed out and hopefully guarded,I think that should be easy on me.

Hello, Bruce

I have been through this early this year - I had to remove three of the ciso teeth ( I don't know how to say this in English, but these are those stubborn ones who should not show up anymore)and do two restorations.
One at a time, though. And it was not funny, anyway.
But it did not make me a worse maker... and I hope it make you a better one.

Thanks Ivan.Hope this lets me concentrate on my knives more.
Hey cogratulations on finally becoming a full time maker..
Bruce
