Sometimes I may see some exclusive offer on different sites:
D2 BM Grip on cabelas.com.
Elishewitz Carbon Fiber/Micarta Handle BM 690 on EMERGENCY OPTIONS.
Does anybody know how does it happen?
Are they real brands?
May be there are some defects or some quality issues?
Thanks, Vassili.

Exclusive models are generally ones that use different materials from the standard ones and are only available from one dealer. The knives will either have a different handle material or blade steel. These knives will not have defects or quality issues out of the normal. The dealer must orde enough of these knives to make it worth while for the manufacturer to do an exclusive run for them

I have also seen custom knives that are exclusive to certain dealers and these knives are not available directly from the maker.

Thank you, Keith.

So this is standart practice and nothing to worry about, then.

It will be nice to see the list of such exclusive models for different brands from different sites.

Thanks, Vassili.

A.G. Russell often has special models on his website. He also has his own brand of knives that are exclusive. I would rate all of his specials as upgrades to standard models. For example he sells a version of Camillus' EDC with a D2 alloy blade. For a real using knife I like his Deer Hunter model hunting knife. He offers this inexpensively with a choice of AUS-8, D2, or VG-10 alloy blades. Very light weight knives with exceptional cutting performance.

A.G. Russell alwvays special and exclusive! And they have something new all the time. What does confuse me - on his site they call this kind of models - pre-production run etc.
I bought few knives from him: CRKT Apache (have no idea why they discontinued such a great knife).
I should check this Cammilus D2 you mentioned.
Thanks, Vassili.
