I have not seen 'The Hunted' yet, but I once saw a movie filmed in Rio that was about a husband and wife who were brutally attacked.
While the wife was in the hospital, the husband watched a street/knife fight. He followed the older guy who won, convinced him to teach him how to use a knife. You can figure out the rest - payback.
Anyone know the name of this movie. I saw it at a rental shop 15 years ago - I would like to learn the name and find a copy.
What are your favorite movies with lots of knives?

That sounds a lot like Exposure, but in that one, the guy is a photographer and the woman is a model, who is killed. It's still one of my favorite knife movies. It gets mentioned a lot on the forums, so I know I'm not alone. :)
Here's the IMDb entry for Exposure

"The Edge", with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin features a custom folder made by a Canadian maker. The knife is given as a gift to Hopkins at the beginning of the movie and it figures into the plot all the way through.

While it's not really a "knife" movie, "Gladiator" has alot of scenes with people fighting with sharp, pointy things.

I thought "The Fan" was pretty cool. A lot of knive shots.

My avatar and the pic below came from this movie about a unemployed knife salesman who is a real baseball fan.

Last of the Mohicans
Braveheart (BIG knives:D )
The Edge
The Lord of the Rings
The Iron Mistress

Paul

Magnificent Seven - if I retranslate it correctly, I saw it in chieldhood. After it all boys start throwing knives.
Thanks, Vassili.

My gripe about The Hunted was the scene in which they both made knives out in the wilderness, and it only took them about 20 minutes to do so? Hhmm... Ah well, i know its just a movie, but that was a bit too much. I guess what I'm saying is had I seen it in the dollar theater it would have been great, but $8.50 was way too much...

Only movie theater I could find for 30 miles or so when I was in emergency vehicle operations training...

the yakuza-more of a sword movie set in japan.starred robert mitchum.

WOOOO yeah i bought that the day it came out on VHS and need to get the DVD...its a great film.

but my favs are in regards to knives (not swords):

Last of the mohicans
The Edge
The Fan (love it when he throws the dagger through the door :p)

AND MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE IS:

Legends of the Fall!!!

(in no particular order):

Last of the Mohicans (rifle-shaped tomahawks, nice daggers)
Braveheart (:D ) - I mean there were claymores n stag daggers, right?
Conan the Barbarian (love those decapitation scenes, yeah!;) )
Predator (the machete, the survival knife)

Woody Allen's "Interiors." The Black Stallion. Sleepless in Seattle.

Those might not sound like 'knife movies' to you, but I played with my knives like a banshee during the entire time my wife made me sit through these!

All of the above, except for the three Ichabod posted. :D

Plus Seven Samurai, Blade, and The Crow. Honorable mention also goes to Pulp Fiction for Bruce's samrai sword scene.

I will probably soon add Kill Bill to that list when it comes out later this year.
