What do you all think of this AG Russell special?

Grapevine: I think it's great, I like the design and the Ironwood handle. Mr. Russell has not been one of the top Randall dealers for all these years by making mistakes. If I did not owe the IRS so much I would order one to night.

I had one of the four inch models some years ago. It was a great field dressing and skinning knife for big game. The shape of the blade and it's mostly flat grind makes for a great game knife. I designed a field dressing/skinning knife and had it made by Matt Harilstadt years ago with a semi-skinner shape and flat grind. It looks different than this Randall but both have some key features for success in working with dead animals!

When I ordered mine just a short time ago, the Russell people told me "they're selling like hotcakes." Since AGRussell expects fewer than 100 to be made, my assigned serial number (80) would appear to mean that thev'e already sold over 80 percent. If I had to guess, I'd say that these knives should be VERY collectible. Believe me, I'm not expecting to make money--I just love Randalls. I have never sold any of these beautiful knives since I started buying them over 40 years ago)--and I never expect to sell this one, either.

Thanks for the replies all. I had made up my mind and placed and order (number 35). I'm glad I came across it while browsing AG's site. It had been awhile since I browsed his site for other than the weekly specials, and for some reason I decided to go into his Randall section, which I'd not gone into in a long, long time. I was told when I ordered it that it had only been put up a couple of days before, so I truly lucked out by getting in on time I think.
