Too many designs in my head, drives me nuts sometimes. Especially when I almost have a design I like but can't quite work through something then wake up in the middle of the night and go aha!

I was initially going to do something different on Clich's RBK but in the course of the passaround some of that imaginary paypal money vacated my account and took up residence in his and it became my RBK instead which is actually pretty convenient considering I wanted one.

The half open styles is really about the only thing that will work for something this size on a regular draw unless you have an extra elbow or are 7ft tall.

I'm more like this tall

So I think I will just modify the design some and build it a bit better.

Let's get started, First you need one of these thingys

What? You don't actually think I spend time drawing on graph paper and taking measurements do you? That stuff takes too long.

16's .... I always play with my Becker in the morning, doesn't everyone? :D

More doodling, erasing, doodling. Sometimes I even use that blue measuring thing

Too big for my laminating machine, Implement plan C (cheap-ass laminating procedure) Tape gun to the rescue.

Tape both sides then chop chop

Then get lost in a space vortex while assembling it in your head and making sure it will work right, because of the curve the angles have to be right or it will get stuck. This happens alot around here. Last time I woke up I had a neat drawing of ninjas in parachutes taking over NYC.

Go grab a new hide and avoid the space vortex

Then get interrupted by a sleepy noodle headed pug that wants in your lap. I reaaaaally gotta finish that cutting station.

Ok that is all for now, Have to go work on other peoples things for awhile. May get it dyed today maybe. Still thinking about something machaxiness too.... hmm more paper required....

Stay tuned.....

Very nice setup.

Your 16 just sitting there is making me jumpy.

I get my 16 TODAY!!

Can't wait to sere how the sheath comes out.

I hear ya on the can't sleep right thing. When I'm building/planning something I might as well stay up all night to finish it because I sure aint gonna rest! LOL

Also waiting to see the finished product....

Pretty cool to see how your design process works Sky. It's cool to see the whole process till finish, this will be interesting.

I'm like this too, if I get a good idea for customizing some knife or whatever I gotta get out of bed and draw it out.

That looks great. I am lovin' the style of the sheath. Keep up the good work.

It's interesting to see your progression from thoughts to paper to leather. Pretty much how I do it too. Except my templates don't have the additional rockets and doodles. I will give that a try. I expect it will make my pattern making go much better! Thanks for posting.........and looks like an awesome design!
All the best
Balding

Nice, to bad no one else has one.... Still really nice, and I really like seeing the progress of production, especially if I might (don't hold me to it, just a thought) get into leather....

Wow, its really interesting to see how you make a sheath! Looking forward to more pics!

Ok, ya'lls dogs creep me out.

Is there a cream or something you can get to shrink their eyes back to normal size?

:D

Moose

Ok a little update. Got everything dyed, except for a piece I forgot I would need. ha. fudge.

Thought about tooling but decided to do a little decorative stitching instead for this one.
