What do you finish woods style/ buscraft / hunter style sheaths with?

I am looking for a method of sealing that works for most conditions in the bush.

I am currently using TanKote or Leather Balm with Atom wax.

I would like a method that is as simple as this that works. I prefer not to dip my sheaths in some form of wax/oil if I can avoid it.

I use Atom wax on 98% of my stuff as its very easy to re apply when it begins to wear. It also allows the leather to breathe, and dry more evenly when it gets wet. Two important factors in a true user sheath. Its also easier for the user to touch up the leather with a simple wax based conditioner, kiwi works very well for this as the colors match very well.

Hope this helps a little.

An acrylic-based sealer over conditioned leather will be really durable. I use it (e.g. Super Shene) sometimes especially when I'm working with stains.

I use sno seal.
Put a thick layer on the sheath and put it in the oven at 185 degrees.
Take the sheath out when dry spots appear, and redistribute or add the wax until most of it is soaked up.
Wipe it clean, and let it settle overnight, and your sheath is basically waterproof. It's easy to maintain, and very durable when applied under heath. It impregnates very deeply..
