What do you put in the hollow handle of your One-piece range? In my Project II, I have a small flint rod, dozen cut off strike anywhere matches, three fish hooks, two sinkers, 15' 20lb. test line, 3' of snare wire, and a small coil of dental floss. Now that you know what weighs me down, what about yourself??

Water purification tablets, pain killers (Hydrocodone), Anitboitics, and water proof matches.

Why "cut off"? Just to save space? Wouldn't that be a little hard to use effectively to light anything? Kind of hard on the fingers! :-)

PS. I for now only have about a dozen strike anywhere matches in my Shadow IV.

I put a couple of strike anywhere kitchen matches, or a Sparklite firestarter, a Marbles mini compass, a couple of pain killers, a few tindertabs for the sparklite.

The mini compass fits in the handle. I will eventually seat it in a bed of epoxy like they did in my Randall 18. THen I put a couple of tinder tabs to cushion it. Then the pills go into the handle, then the matches. Seems to work for me.

I keep unuf helium in mine so it won't sink when it falls in the lake.

I have a South Africa Chris Reeve with a 7" blade and when I got it there was some fishing line, a fly, small spinnerbait, hooks, and some matches. Hopefully I won't ever have to use it, but its there if I need it.
