We've all seen threads about "what's in our pockets." However, I've slimmed down my daily list. I'm in an office and except for VERY casual days, cargo pants are out.

I still carry my EDC, a 3" clip point for crappy jobs, a cell phone and a tiny AAA flashlight on a caribiner (sp?).

I've stopped lugging a .380 in an organizer (off body), ear plugs, a third knife, bandages and a second set of glasses.

I have never carried a Sure-Fire, a full-size automatic, water, kevlar in any configuration, pepper spray, a kubatan (or any blunt trauma weapon) or any type of belt with hidden pockets or knives.

Have you toned down your daily carry?

I agree. Keeping it light works for me, too. I have always been very stingy about what I carry, so I never got loaded up too much. I'm down to a small multi-tool (Juice), a 3" folder, a Photon and button compass on a typical day.

I guess that means I stopped carrying a larger 3.5" folder, a larger flashlight and a cell phone. I also removed a bunch of keys that I don't use daily and you should see all the unessential stuff that came out of my wallet. I dumped the large organizer for a pocket-sized electronic version. I'm more comfortable and streamlined now, but still have what I need.

Carry OC its a good Less than Lethal weapon. Its safer for you then getting in for the knee-chin jab combo. use that after the OC fails. Don't carry all oc. By the way, "You got a permit for that gun?" Sorry, New York humor. Nobody carries guns here legally because the PD won't issue the permits like they are supposed to.

I've stopped carrying the extra V-gar. I have one in my belt, and thats enough.

My loadout has remained consistant for a long time.

commander in GH pocket, Native in LH pocket, RJ Martin Kozuka IWB for right hand draw, JSP CC-blade in wallet, JSP Omega in key chain, V-gar in belt, Surefire and paracord keyring.

16inch asp comes and goes.

When i am in CT where my permit is valid, a glock 26 (really small 9mm) or a S&W 640 (5 shot revolver in .357)

with the guns comes either 2 15 round clips minimun, or 4 5-shot speed loaders.

Do I have too much stuff?

Stopped carrying those little folding pliers on my key ring,(they're neat but I never used one), Stopped carrying a keyring LED light, got a Streamlight pen sized LED,(it's about the size of a pen, literally, and uses AAAA batteries:cool: , I didn't even know they made em')And I stopped carrying My CRKT M-16 because it was chewin' up my pockets.

I stopped carrying ANYTHING that can't be used as multi-purposs
tool.

I carry a 4 1/4" stockman, a supertool, a bandanna, a coin/card pocket
purse,a zippo pocket tape (it's really small), keys, pill case, mini maglight
& once in awhile a lockback for work.

I do not carry a wallet , cell phone and all the other modern day stuff
so many seem to be lost without. I 've seen some folk's with a pockets
that groan under the load and fanny packs of backpacks with so much
stuff I wonder where thier moving to they carry so much. I guess I'm old
fashioned because I believe in fast and light is the way to go.

since i retired a month ago, no more radio/cuffs/badge/flex cuffs/10 pens lol, and have been making do w/only my glock 33, vs glock 32C and 33 and kel tech P32, now just the 33 and 2 spare amgs, 1 a pre ban 15 rnd 32 mag, and usually only one knife now.....my mini maddmaxx, usually carry only 1 gun now, but change around some from my berreta 92 9MM to my SIG P220 .45 to my S&W 586 4" bbl .357 mag ( a wheel gun lol) and my colt detective special .38, was kinda locked into glocks before, of course all those holsters cost $$, and ya need a lot of them, and need a lot of practice too, but what the heck been shooting 3 times last wk, a great way to spend the day

feel much liter, now lol

I don't carry my 6" Colt Python .357 any more since I got my Glock 27 and 23. They are all three legal for me to carry in Atlanta, but my pocketknife (if over 3" and locking) isn't, even with a CCW. - Lee

Good thread! I stopped carrying my one handed opening knife and am back to a carbon steel Old Timer stockman.

Hi All-

PHWL, what was the "driver" of that decision? Isn't it easier and more convenient to use a knife that opens with one hand? You could be going for the "retro" thing, though.

MelancholyMutt, at first glance it looks like you're a LEO or at least involved in some type of security work.

Even if you're not, your items are all good choices, but that's the problem I was addressing. I was getting bogged down by 'stuff,' and it was all 'good stuff.' But I had to make a decision if that was going to be my every day routine.

I started noticing things. Like when I got a pair of levi's ready for the wash, and it took a while to check every pocket and dump out every item. Or when I left the house in the morning in a jean jacket and my wife and I had to pat every pocket to check if I had everything. Then there was the sinking feeling if I discovered one item was misplaced.

But some of the stuff might have been used once per month. I started just keeping some items in my desk at work.

Now I ride lighter, and that sinking feeling is gone.
