I'm still around. :)
Just working insane amounts of hours getting FAA 135 certification.

still here.

some of the other names i see around, a few others... not so much.

don't know if it's due to the rough economy or some other factors. but several of the forums for various knifemakers here have been very quiet recently.

If you think this is bad, you should look at the ESEE list of people. See how many of those 800ish actually post regularly ;)

People often join just to be 'in' something.

I'm still here John, I'm more of a troller through and post occasionally but I'm always checking in on the threads. I still love you...er..you know what I mean.

Still around. I still need to add another JK to keep my anniversary knife company. I've just been putting my play money in other places. Probably after the 1st of the year I might be looking at another order.

On a different note, have you thought about entering the WSS wood craft knife challenge? I'm thinking a slightly upsized river woods companion (3.5" blade) in O1 with a full convex grind (no secondary bevel) would do well.

Take it easy!

I had thought about it, but with finishing up the orders I have, and trying to find a job, I don`t really have time. Besides that, I very seldom even go to W&SS anymore, don`t find too much interesting there. Not at all like it used to be.

Still lurking, but I'm on BF less and less nowadays. Trying to get out more and post less.

I sold my first JK a little while ago, but I'm planning on getting something new from you when finances are better.

I hear you on that. It used to be my "home" here on BF...now I drop by only every once in a while. Seems to be a much different place from when I joined in 08.

I was right with ya for a while, but things seem to be getting more interesting/light hearted lately. I really enjoyed the the camp knife challenge, and I don't think the bush knife challenge would be complete without you in there. I've been around the forums for a few years despite my low post count, and as far as I'm concerned you're one of the original WSS makers.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm still around, just really busy lately--sorry for not posting enough, and for taking forever with the review of your kitchen set

Unfortunately, that's the same for me these days. I keep hoping that things will pick up again. I keep posting trip reports there (featuring JK knives!) but feedback is usually limited to ten or so short replies. As a result, I have been getting out more and posting less.

Here's a shot of my JK Fire Kit in action, from Gatineau, this past weekend:

'm still here I just put a set of Ivory scales from an Ivory veneer from a piano key on one of your Tin Knives, as soon as I down load the pics from my camera I'll post 'em.

John, We are still here , Life catches up with us and we have to do other things but we have not gone anywhere

I read everything but rarely comment. I find myself wanting and liking all of your knives but with finances the way they are I can't get any yet. I didn't think my input was worth much if I couldn't back it with a purchase or two.

Hi Stomper -

I was on vacation all last week, but I have not been on the computer as much since I started my new job a few weeks ago. I had been checking in during the day from work, but now I don't have the time to do so, so it's whatever I can get in the evenings.

Now I am heading out to work on my motorcycle - getting it ready to ride to Maine in a couple of weeks.

Just busy busy busy.

Looking forward to this weekend though!

best regards -

I'm still here! Just out in the woods more than i've been online. Been fishing a lot, got up close and personal (less than 6 feet) with a fawn in the woods, she came to investigate. Also, came up to her mom a few weeks earlier and got her on video, she came up around 10 yards to me investigating. Followed some turkeys about 70 yards in the woods while maintaning between 10 and 15 yards of them. I'm pretty good with the animals :-). Here's some pics. The video is shot on my cell phone, she was out around 25 yards then came in around 10. The deer was shot without zoom about 5 feet infront of me, her mom passed by when i was fishing and i heard her, turned around and saw the doe. So i walked into the woods to get a pic of her and heard the fawn crying down the path about 20 yards behind her mom. So i stood still on a log and she came down the path and stopped and stared at me. She started thumping her right front foot at me, staring me down and crying for her mom. pretty exciting, except the whole time i was thinking i was gunna get charged! Her hooves were about the size of a half dollar. I'm going out tomorrow with my good cam (these were taken with a point and shoot) and sitting on the main animal trail to get some good pics. May bring corn & apples.
