What happened to TiNives?

I've bought and sold several TiNives over the last couple of years, but I heard that they went under so I just bought another to hang on to. Their knives are great looking and well built, I don't see why they didn't do better. I know that there was some discussion about poor customer service, but I called TiNives and spoke to Scott Self a couple of times, and everything worked out fine. I remember someone mentioning that Mr. Self wasn't really concerned with selling a lot of knives and making money, he mostly took care of repeat customers, his built-in fan base.

Does anyone know the whole story of what happened to them? If their knives were readily available, and had pocket clips, one would definitely be in my EDC rotation instead of being a safe queen.

I think the problem was that despite good reviews and quality construction, they just didn't move enough knives to stay in buisness. Hell, I've been meaning to get one for years, but something always "came up", like another knife I wanted more, or maybe I had decided to wait till they came out with another blade shape, stuff like that.

I like others always liked these knives, and own one myself but was sorry to hear they went out of business.
The good news for lovers of Ti-Nives is they are going to be making them again under new ownership. Another person bought out the whole company, equipment, etc. and is in the process of going into production.
I am plugged into the person who is close to all this but has sworn me to secrecy for business reasons, and I know he cannot say anymore but before long it will be out in public.
Hope this little bit of info helps.

Wow, thanks for the good news Larry! :D As long as I have the ear of an insider, please, please tell the new owners that the knife needs a pocket clip. I know that Scott Self had some with pocket clips, I actually owned a 3.25 with a clip (too small), but all the others that I've seen didn't have them. If I can get my hands on a 4.25 with plain black handle, bead blasted blade with thumbstuds and a clip for a reasonable price, I will most definitely add it to my EDC rotation.
