Box says 422 Orange Blaze, cat. 1881

Handle says BUCKLITE

Blade says BUCK, 112 ], U.S.A

The "]" symbol on the blade interprets to year 2000.

Is this a 422, a 112, a re-bladed 422 or something else?

422 with a 112 Blade (same blade as a 422, but with a 112 stamp)

you have a model 422.

I believe somewhere in my stash I have a 112 with a 422 blade in it. I've also have something similar, a 560 with a 110 blade.

Thank you kindly for putting me straight. The 422 and the 112 are relatively new to me and I'm trying to learn about this size. I wondered if this was a frankenknife.

I wonder how common/rare it is to have un-matched handle v blade.

You need an archivist, maid and secretary for your stash.

Please dig them out if you get a chance because I want to see them.

Thank you kindly and may you live for a thousand years.

Here is a 110 blade in a 426 frame. It was a Build Out.

OK. So a Build Out is one way to get a cross-matched handle and blade stamp. Of course.

Thank you kindly.

Excellent photos posted online lickity split. You are as fast as chain blue lightning.

I'll have to get a better pic later, but here it is.

There's an orange one like it on ebay at the moment.

Outstanding photo of what we are talking about.

Does everyone has knives like this: un-matched stamps on appropriate blades?

My wife has an early 426 original (with the drop point blade and Maroon handle) but had it rebladed with a Selector skinner blade . I've seen more of the 560's with 110 blades than 560 blades . DM

Not rare at all....

Now you are scaring me. What next. Cats chasing dogs or oil and water mixing. The depth to this marque just got deeper for oregon, who is barely a wader at this point. :D

Thank you kindly for your input. It is wonderful to get the straight facts from the seasoned cognizanti. May you live a thousand years.

Reflecting, oregon ponders. There goes any hope of quiting my night job... :D

Thank you kindly for the pics. Another un-matched blade stamp and handle knife.

Does anyone know how this takes place, build outs aside, or are the reasons better left in the shadows? I can speculate but I wonder how it happens.

I may be wrong about the 560, the blade looks to be too new to have come from the factory on that one. I do know I have one with a 110 blade somewhere. I'm looking now.

The 560's are commonly found with 110 blades and the Alaskan Statehood knife -- thats the only way I've seen it. The 110 blade fit the Ti 560 frame so why stamp a different blade . DM
