What is your favorite blade finish?

Just very curious what the bladeforums custom community thinks about blade finishes. Personally, I have always loved hand rubbed satin, but different strokes ...

Let me know what you think. I'm curious if a poll in the general knife discussion group would give different results?

I like a nice hand rubbed finish, but admit I am partial to stonewash on a user.

I think on this poll I will change the order of my choices from the ones I made on the Blade Discussion forum. That puts the hand rubbed satin at #1 and damascus as #2. I am having a real hard time deciding which of these two finishes I prefer.

I prefer any type of satin finish over a mirror polish,but only getting one vote I went w/handrubbed.

The poll results are a little different than I had expected. There is more agreement between the General Forum and the Custom Forum than I had anticipated. To summarize after 4 days:

That the custom forumites were less interested in stone washed was probably to be expected. That the General Forumites were so disinterested in blasted finishes was a real surprise to me. Maybe we can soon be singing "ding dong, the witch is dead" as far as blasted finishes go.

The big surprise to me was that as a finish, damascus did not score higher than it did on the custom forum.
