I am somewhat of a shotgun nut, and most of the time I can't pass up a good deal on one.

I have different shotguns for different reasons, but here are a few of my favorites that I own:

1. Browning BPS Stalker .10GA for DUCK
2. Browning BPS Engraved .12GA for Dove, and skeet
3. Browning A5 .12GA for squirrel
4. Remington 11-87 Super Mag .12GA another one for DUCK
5. Remington 870 Wingmaster .12GA for skeet, dove, and squirrel
6. Remington 870 Super Mag .12GA extra duck gun for a guest
7. Remington 870 Wingmaster 20" Rifle Sights and 8 shot extension for a defense shotgun.
8. Batavia Leader SxS .12GA that I use for Cowboy Action Shooting.
9. Remington 1900 SxS .12GA that was my grandfathers duck gun, and it is now hanging over the mantle.

I would really like to own:

1. Benelli Super Black Eagle
2. Ruger SxS .12GA
3. Ithaca MAG-10 .10GA Deluxe
4. Beretta A303 .12GA (I used to have one of these, and loved it)
5. Benelli M1
6. Browning Gold .10GA Stalker
7. Browning A5 Sweet Sixteen

So whats your FAV?

Right now I own a Mossberg 500 and an old Beretta single-shot .410 that used to belong to my mother. My fantasy shotgun is a Franchi SPAS12.

The favorite one I have right now is a Benelli M1 Super 90 Tactical w/ ghost-ring sights and a standard/pistol-grip stock. It is incredibly fast.

The one I would like to have (again) is a Remington Marine Magnum. Got rid of one a while back, and have regretted it ever since.

As you can probably tell by my choices, I tend to think of shotguns in more of a "social" scenario than as hunting arms.

...Nice battle shotgun, but it IS pretty heavy, and complicated. I'm pretty happy with my old Winchester 1200 "riotgun".:).

I had a Spas12 folder, looked awesome (perfect movie gun)....but was a PITA to operate. For the $850-$1200 that they range in, Benelli is a much better gun.

Geeze, you guys, FANTASY shotgun :) Beltfed-- I was under the impression that the SPAS12 was more in the 4-6k range. Where can you find them for $1,000?

Geeze, you guys, FANTASY shotgun Beltfed-- I was under the impression that the SPAS12 was more in the 4-6k range.

I've never seen a SPAS12 priced in that range.

My favorite shotgun isn't a fantasy, it is a Gunsite "Police" 1187. That VangComp barrel is simply awesome on a social shotgun. Benelli's are super sweet to but, the walls of their barrels are too thin for this treatment.

I've never seen another shotgun pattern so well (no flyers) and so consistently. Even if you can't afford a tricked out shotgun, you owe it to yourself to buy and use a VangComp barrel on a shotgun you already own. Simply awesom...guess I already said that but, it's worth repeating.

My favorite is my Benelli M1 Super 90 Field gun. It ahs a 26" barrel and a tube extension, for a total of 7+1. I keep five Brenneke slugs on it's buttstock, and tehy group within two inches at 50 meters using just the vent rib.I'd love to get a ghost ring 21" barrel, but I looked at prices, and I am not prepared to spend 300 bucks on a barrel. So instead I bought an 870 Combo, barely used (two boxes of 8s) with a hard case for 220 bucks. The 18" with rifle sights and the Spartan finish and good old manual action just make me feel like a cop in a 70s action flick. And I'm not afraid to let my freinds use it, either, whereas only one person outside my immediate family ahs ever shot my Benelli, and I intend to keep it that way.

Fantasy gun? USAS15. 20 round drum, full auto. That's it.

My fav is my old Winchester Model 1897, 16 gauge. :D

A VERY close second is my Winchester 1300 Defender, 12 gauge, with 18" barrel and 8 shell capacity. ;)

I'm not as into shotguns as I am handguns, but I like side by sides. My favorite that I own, in fact the only one I currently own is a vintage Springfield SxS 20 gauge.

Fantasy guns? Realistically, I'd like a Ruger Red Label in 28 gauge.

If price were no object, a Purdy.

When I was over in London last year I visited the
Holland and Holland Shop...oh my, my my!!! I got
so excited I came lead shot...but I'm a tactical
guy and I love my Rem. 870 with tactical light.
I was in a gun store the other day and I saw another
fantasy shotgun...It was a gang banger special.
Sawed off crudely at 18" this little 12ga bastard
pump had a hacked up wood pistol grip...lot's of
duck tape...the blue was worn then but this little
bad boy looked like something strait out of the
movies...It was only a $100 but I passed...something's
are better left alone!!

i'm still waiting for a used Mossberg Bullpup to turn up at a local shop. just too cool to look at.

My Mossy 590 of course at work and his little buddy the 500 at home. This is me at Blackwater shooting a stage. I am the one in the black t-shirt and desert camo.

I found the Benelli M1-S90 LOP to be a bit long for my short arms, and the Mossberg 590 too unwieldly overall length wise to maneuver with...

So, M500 6 shot for 'riot' control, an IGA-Stoger double 'Coach gun' for just plain fun and 'creek side' quail, and a 870 wingmaster for 'fly-away' upland game and trap...

On my 'must have' list? A Winchester model 12, and a Ithaca model 37...something about holding that trigger down and pumping the slide...fast, very fast once you get the hang of it.

i have a remington 1100 12g w/20" bbl w/rifle sights/rec site/extended mag 7 rnds/sidesaddle carrier for shells-6/pistol grip non folding stock, its pretty awesome, as shotguns go imho. also have a rem 1100 w/a long improved bbl w/vent rib/pretty wood/etc. my duck gun is a mossberg pump 12 w/3" chamber and LONG bbl exztra full choke.

a bud had a SPAS back in the day, i thought was too darned heavy and 'clunky' wouldnt wanna carry 1 of those all day lol

have always wanted a '97 winchester trench gun, might make one up, ya can get a replica now for about $350, then add a few things, would be coool imho

Since I've worked in and around gun shops for over 30 years, as a hobby... I've owned most of them, including almost all the ones above.

The Spas is great as a defense shotgun... just throw the gun and a box of shells to the BG and sit down for a cup of coffee while he nearly kills himself trying to load and shoot it. Then bonk him on the head with the empty coffee cup while he's totally immersed in trying to work the Spas... :)

I liked the Super 90 with long mag and pistol grip for ALL hunting best as it shot slugs, shot and anything better and faster than anything else available a few years ago.

Now, I don't hunt anymore. I have a pair of Mossbergs for home as I like the long mag, light weight, and top tang safety for self defense, middle of the night emergency possibilities. :D

Own
870 remmington 20" rifle sites, imp cylinder , squirel/ pest hunting
want...
Wilson Combat/Scattergun Technologies border patrol model.

Man I really like the Scattergun Tech. I wonder if they do the 3 1/2" 11-87?

I think I'd have to say an 870 either done up with VangComp or Scattergun Tech.

OTOH, I'd like to get back the "one that got away". An Ithaca 37 with the matte finish and dull oiled stock. It had the 18-1/2" rifle sighted barrel, and shot like a dream. I don't think I've ever seen that combination since. WTF was I thinking?! :grumpy:
