Why these of course. He knows where he can and can't carry these and uses them safely and responsibly. He just gave them to me for a good sharpening. There were a couple of good dents in the edge near the tip of the Skyline but they sharpened out pretty easily.

That's awesome. :D Good on him for being responsible and cognizant of their restrictions. I wish I had those at that age... hell, I wish I had that Skyline now.

He has a lot more than that. He keeps trying to get one of my Ti / ZDP-189 Leeks but I'm not giving in. They are all mine!!!! :p

Be thankful. At least he's not badgering you for a MC Ti / ZDP!

I don't have one of those. Someone keeps hoarding them...wonder who that could be. <cough cough>

Good to see you posting by the way.

Great post, at least he is started down the right path early. I love that he uses his knives as well.

Seems like he has a few good knives...Now, why dont you teach him how to sharpen them?

You have a good son there Morrow. Like sticktodrum, I wish I had those when I was that age too. :)

I'm not much of a damascus fan but it looks very nice on that skyline.

I think stick is like me and trying to track down the skylines our collections are missing. My question stick is what after the skylines I'm thinking leeks, maybe blurs but i would have to space those purchases out a little more.

We're getting there slowly. He's had an "introduction to sharpening" but hasn't gotten overly excited about it yet.

But sharpening is my favorite part! It is the pursuit of an ever sharper knife that keeps me going. Though I am put out with a couple of knives that came to me with 30+ degree angles. On one side of the blade!

I wish there was a Skyline (especially that SMEXY) when I was 15! I had a Buck 110 and some cheap-o fixed blade back then. However my son already has a Leek with custom engraving. He'll get it in about 9 years when he's 10!

I gave my 15yr. Old boy a Kershaw clash. If he treats it well, he might get a ZT for his birthday.

Get some cheap knives at the Dollar Store and let him give the paperwheels a try.

I'll let him try power sharpening once he understands the fundamentals of hand sharpening. He's getting there....just needs a little more practice and patience.

Patience is something few kids have. Good thing you have an abundance of knives though. :D
