A guy I work with (who's very cool) knows that I like knives.
Today he brought in a Gerber knife. He didn't know much about it and neither do I. I wondered if some of you would help me find out what it is.
It's the first time I've seen/handled a Gerber and I must say that it was very very nice.
It had a black FRN handle with vertical groves in it all over the place. The handle was not curved at all it was straight. The handle looked to be about 4" long and the blade was about 3.75-4" long. The blade was about 1/4th Serated but he said that he had that done after the fact.
The Blade was a kind of matte looking. Not very shiny. It had what looked to be 2 different signatures on the blade and one was "something Applegate". The blade was made of ATS-34 (that's what was on the blade).
It is a liner lock knife with an extra lock thing on the back. It is U shaped and folds over the blade to keep you from acidentally disengaging the liner lock. First time I'd ever seen this.
Any ideas or pictures would be great ad I have no idea what it is.
I was very impressed by the knife to say the least. It seems very well made.
Shall I asssume that Gerber is a good knife?
