Im going to my uncle's wedding tonight and am unsure what knife to take with me. I have to take one at least i feel naked without one :) I will list my Every day gear, then what is available for me to take and i would appreciate any input as to what you guys think i should take. My every day gear is:

21" ASP Baton
CRKT M18-02 Balck G10(the smallest one)
Zippo Lighter
Cell phone(Nokia 5160)
Photon Light on Keychain

Now for the wedding i cant find any way to fit the Baton into the lineup so i will have to leave it behind unless you guys can suggest a really good carry option. The cell phone and lighter are no problem as well as keys(kinda have to take them lol) As for knife I will list all from my collection that i can take and you guys can tell me what you would take.

CRKT M18-02 Balck G10(the smallest one)

Kershaw Vapor II

PCKS Buck 110(BG-42, Nickel bolsters/rivits, Blue wood on handle)

Custom 4" fixed blade(drop point hunter, L6 steel, Blue/black G10, has small light kydex sheath im sure i could fit on me and have it concealed)

CS Super edge(Would take it in neck carry)

So what would you guys reccomend for the carry? note that it will be mostly my family(%90) and a few people i dont know that are there. All my family knows im a knife nut and wouldnt say anything even if i brought my CS Recon tanto but i dont want to scare the people there that i dont know(including the bride's family) So what do you reccomend, im leaning towards the 110 myself right now but im sure you guys could change my mind. Thanks for the help.

You know, this sounds like an excellent excuse to purchase a 'dress' knife. ;)

The buck sounds like a good compromise, though.

I did purchase one, too bad it was a custom and isnt shipping till next week :( I was hopeing it would be here in time but oh well.

I'd go with the 110 as well, but I don't think the Vapor would be too bad either. It depends on whether or not you'll be using it. If you just want to have it with you then it doesn't really matter which one as long as nobody sees it, but if you're the type that takes it out all the time then I would probably do the 110.

On a side note...I was best man for my friend last August and I carried my 4" Benchmade Boguszewski Spike. It came in handy to cut the cans free from the limousine. But then again I'm the type of guy that just doesn't really care what other people think (in that situation anyway).

I think a nice slipjoint would be the best thing for that kind of occasion.

I'm hoping my advice doesn't steer you wrong, in the event that you have to fight for your life (or neutralize terrorists) at the wedding.;)

The 110 it is then. I dont think i will be having to use it however i do want to take something that wont scare the crap outta people if i did have to use it to cut/open something. It's just hard to tell what will scare people, my M18(which has a MASSIVE 3" blade) scares people sometimes when i flip it open quick.

Well the thing is anything could scare them.
110 would be the best, but I'd think the M18 would look nice enough that people won't get scared. At least it isn't one of those black knives.
BTW where exactly are you in vancouver?

Hey rifter, I notice you mentioned carrying an ASP baton. I've never had any clear information about how legal those are to carry in Canada. What have you heard about the laws regarding their carry? I've been interested in acquiring one of these, but can't get a straight answer as to whether they can be carried or not....

Well.......

If the couple getting wed don't want children, I would advise a Stockman with a Spey blade.

I have herd various things about the ASP. Some say its legal some say it is not. Seems to be in a grey area, however my best friends bro is a RCMP officer and says i should not have a problem unless im caught with it at the scene of a crime. That and he said if anyone did take it from me to give him a call and he'd get it back lol. But the way i figure is it's legal if they sell it in canada, and i ordered it from a online store in ontario.

When I went to my sister's wedding last year I carried my Benchmade 850 in an Allen Elishewitz clip pouch.

I even had a few occasions to use it, cutting loose threads and opening packages. No one commented on it, except for a few "that's really pretty" remarks. :)

rifter: This is probably unrelated and hope you have an uneventful sheeple encounter if you do use the blade. Are you Chinese?
cause I'm ;)

I hid a 12" Bowie under the wedding cake table at my OWN wedding.

When it was time to cut the cake, I made a disgusted look at the ornate cake slicer and pulled out this huge blade and cut the cake.

Suprisingly, no one was shocked......they considered the source.

I'd take the tanto, you know how things can get at large family get togethers! Good luck!

How about a Cold Steel Gurkha Kukri?...Ya just never know when those roudy bridesmaids will get out of hand and go totally berserk!:D.:D.

When I wear a suit, it can't handle the stuff I normally carry in my jeans pockets. I clip a Spyderco Delica in my right-side waistband amd hang a Newt Livesay Woo around my neck under my lovely dress shirt and tie. I can access the Woo from between the buttons easily enough, if I need to.

Oh, when I got married, we cut the wedding cake with my Randall 14.

Well i took the buck, which was good, only thing i used it for was digging a cork out cause it broke, my other knives would have been to thick, gotta love that clip point on the buck :) Oh, and has anyone told you you guys are nuts???? cutting a wedding cake with a 12" Bowie? or a Randall??? LMAO

The Bowie isn't big enough.:D When a friend of mine got married, he cut his cake with a Roman short sword. (I am not making this up!) It did get a few unusual looks from folks that didn't know him well - especially those on the bride's side.

At "military" weddings they use the sword/saber to cut the cake.

But, really, I thought shotguns were what family brought to weddings...
