I´ve been making my own knives for several years now and would like to start making my own leather sheaths. I´ve always hired this out. But i'm not sure what tools to get or where i should buy them from . I was also wondering if there is a good book or video for a beginer thanks Chris

I started with a tandy basic leatherworking kit.
There's a lot of stuff in ther I've never used, but then to buy each piece separately for the ones I do use would have cost the same.
they also have some decent books.
the other resource I highly recommend would be your local library -- see what kind of leatherworking books they have - and in the first chapter will be a list of tools.

Get on the Tandy e-mail list and you'll see the kits come up for sale pretty often at a really good price.

Tandy also has a discount club that is worth signing up for.

Excellent points....I didn't think of that.....too close to the trees I guess:D

I know exactly what you mean bro, I've been to the Lost Pines and the Lost Maples down here umpteen times and they are always right there!
