the knife i got was sharp as shit! Still is, but I abuse the hell out of this thing... how do you all keep the edge? Also how do I go about this edge on other knives?

Leather,, leather... Leather,, leather only,,

Bush craft Brain Trust is our resident expert in Strops,, JRE is what he recommends

He will be here soon to break it down,,

Please allow me to chime in.

JRE is in fact a great place. I bought two strop straps (black and green compound) and a strop bat. Its got three compounds - black - red - pink and plain leather for final polish

Keep them poppin :)

Since you'll be using only a strop for edgekeeping, be sure to strop often - more often than you'd use a stone.

ya i saw the three compounds, which is the way to go?

Check out Knivesshipfree.com too. They have a BRKT set with a strop bat and two "crayons" of compounds at a great price!

I was just going to ask this question today, about a strop recommendation. Question answered!

JRE industries is the way to go. I would go with a strop bat (black, green, pink, and plain leather) and a black leather strop. Black compound is approximately equal to 1800 grit sand paper, so the key is to strop the knife often and do not let the knife get dull or you will have a ton of work to do to get it back. Once you get the edge you like you can easily bring it back with 5-10 strops per side after a days use. PM me with any questions.
