What's the deal with this, anyone???

Well, I'd love to see the article. But, those knives are hardly rare and certainly not worth $225.

There was a used one that sold on Bladeauction recently at less than half the asking price. I'm surprised, usually Jack is pretty good with his prices.

I have seen one of these overpriced before here:

Too pricy for me!!!;)

Chuck is right...(and thanks for the picture Blade420)...these knives aren't that rare...and I just got my second one recently for a little over $50.00. It's true they aren't just out there floating around, but I have seen 20-30 of them in the past few years.

Brookstone's catalogue also used to sell them for a short while back in the 80's, for about $35 if I remember right????

One of mine has been used, but the other one is totally unused in any way. So if anyone wants to part with $225??????...let me know. ;) <~~ That was a joke!! Save your money for a Model 31!!

These are nice little guys to have, but you will find one if you just hang out at gun and knife shows some..., and for far less than $225????...that is a really base form of "gouging"!!!

I am not a "CIA Agent".., and I don't know anyone that is/was.., but if these were given to agents at anytime.., I'd guess it was as a T-Prize at a Federal Employees Golf Tournament!

Like Chuck I'd be interested to see the article on it, and I'm certainly ready to "Eat-My-Words".., but if these were actual CIA Issue, I'm surprised we didn't kave more KGB defections!

>>I found something very similar to this at my local flea mkt a few months ago, it has black handles, and on the spine is what appears to be a bottle cap flipper. I keep it in my tool box in the garage...refer to it as my 'garage bali'. I paid a sum total of (God's honest truth), $3.50. It was brand new in sealed plastic wrap.
It was the only one like it the guy had, and he seemed unsure of where he got it from.

If anyone wants to send me 250 bux, I'll let it go! I also have some real nice swamp lots for sale (with or without 'gators)... ;^)

Guys,
Had one of these when they first came out! I heard the CIA story back then, the one I got was advertised as an outdoors knife! Forget FLIPPING these! Oh yeah, one more thing, save your money!
JIM

Thanks for all the info everyone! I didn't really have any intention of buying it from the beginning and i guess it's a good thing...sounds like this guy might be hanging on to his for a while at that price!
