wheel resurfacing?

O.k, I've been doing flat grinding for the past year and want to try my hand at hollow grinding now. I use a grizzly with an 8" wheel, but as Alan Blade points out, the wheels on the newer machines are coated with a softer rubber than the older ones making hollow grinding more difficult. So here's the question, how would I go about resurfacing the wheel with a harder rubber (is it even worth trying?) or finding one of the older wheels in either 8"-10" diameter? Any help would be great. Thanks.

Bader resurfaces wheels with any durometer you like. Something in the 60-70 range should work fine.
