When might Cryo torsion bars be back in stock?

I'm curious. When might I reasonably expect to be able to repair my Cryo?

According to the CS representative I talked to, I am on a list to receive a torsion bar when they come in (since I don't want to send my knife in for a replacement.)

Just talked to our warranty team about this. They said they're hoping for late October, but can't make any promises.

Actually, the torsion bar for the 1940 fits in the Cryo and they have that Torsion bar.

Happened to my Cryo about two months ago. I sent it in to Kershaw and they got it right back to me. Great customer service, just too bad they're out of torsion bars.

I have had my kershaw leek for years and it keeps fip out like crazy. how long are the supose to last please??

Kershaw says they last 10k openings (http://www.kershawknives.com/faq.php). My Leek's torsion bar broke the first weekend I got it, and the next broke on the 87th opening IIRC (I decided to keep count after the first one broke so fast), then the third has been fine since then (June), so it seems some last longer than others.

I've had my Leek and Blackout since about 2003, and they've never needed any maintenance but a little oil on the pivots.

The Cryo broke after about 2 weeks. I estimate that I did about 500 openings.

Our torsion bars are tested to 10K openings, as mentioned above. But I like to compare them to a spark plug: Sometimes you'll get one that lasts forever, but occasionally (very rarely) you'll get a bad one that will die after a couple weeks. Fortunately, it's a part that is very easily replaced - provided we have spares in stock.

I would feel better about it if the Cryo's blade was milled so that the lockbar detent kept it closed, but it is not. The Cryo is useless until I get that torsion bar in the mail.

Thats a cool analogy!
