Some one must have left BAS and an AK alone in the dark for too long.

If it was only as easy as getting them sloshed and leaving them in a candle lit room...:(

And if it was that easy I would feel sorry for Jewel!!! :D :p

Sam,

You're right. It is harder to breed them in captivity than pandas. I usually keep my knives well oiled in a nice cozy environment, but I haven't been able to document anything, although, every so often a knife turns up that I simply can't remember buying.

The best way to discover what is going on is to check your collections and look for knives that look a un-natural (like the one I posted above). If you find any post it on here and share your discovery with the rest of us.

If that is what it takes, to get some positive knife coverage, then I am all for it.

BTW, you have to be careful about what you feed your knives. This is of my 22 inch GRS when it first arrived:

...After weeks of proper nutrition* ....

*mostly a balanced diet of hardwoods.

We see that it has taken on a more mature form and grown to a little over 25 inches:

hehehe

BTW how do you tell the sex of a khuk? I know how to determine gender for animals but I think I'd lose a few fingers with a GRS. And what happens if you stick m/m or f/f together in a room. I bet the wood chips would fly due to territorial instincts.

Hey n2s:

Glad to see another person on the forum that that also worships at the altar of Chris Reeve knives, as well as HI.

Now I'm wondering what the Kami's could do with a solid piece of bar stock. I'd bet they could figure out a way to make a pretty decent one piece knife, although I think they would have a problem hollowing out the handle. For those of you that aren't familiar with Chris Reeve one piece knives, which he makes on a CNC machine, the handles are hollowed out so stuff can be stored inside.

Wonderfully curious little creatures those dust bunnies of yours ;)

Mike,

Unfortunately, it will be a while before the boys set up CNC equipment in Napal.

Our favorite Khukuris are well lifetime guaranteed.
Now when two of them breed, what will happen? It will last till (my) death parts the two... it's closer to good, old, forgotten way of wedding than what we call nowadays.

One more CR fans here. Personally I think a sebenza would make a great companion knife for the khukuri for jungle hikes. The khuk would handle all the chopping and vegetation clearing and the sebbie will do the rest. Kinda like a modern day dai-sho. Will see how it works out - i got a jungle hike planned in June and both knives will be going along.
